One More

Seven kindoms, seven gods, and seven parts now cast that I can't tell you about.

Ser Seven is another terrific award winning actor. He will be going back to a place he's been before. This is a guy who once went to the wars with our Jaime, though it's a good thing that Jaime wasn't a kingslayer then, or all history might have been changed. And there are mountains in Westeros that he might know, though his character has never seen 'em.

More by week's end, maybe.

And the announcement? Don't ask me.

I have to say that I'm very much looking forward to this series; a number of my friends are fans of your books and we all agree that HBO could end up doing a really good job.

If who I heard was cast as Ned is correct I feel sorry for the guy; he never gets to live when playing a fantasy role, does he?

To add one more piece of information, David and Dan popped up earlier today to say, "Another day, another knight."

The character must be Ser Jorah, Ser Waymar, or Ser Rodrik Cassel, one would suppose, with I'd say Waymar being the least likely.

I wonder why HBO is delaying...perhaps there is someone big in the works for a lead that they want to finalize before they release the cast list. And Sean Bean was pretty big!

My only guess here is that, based on the statement about his character knowing something about mountains without having seen them, perhaps this is Aemon Targaryen that has been cast.

I am now convinced that David Wenham is going to be Jaime, and that the war in question is 300, fills the Kingslayer bit nicely! Though as for Ser 7 no guesses, since 299 people went to war with him in that film! David Wenham was Faramir, and I think he could pull off the role nicely.

The only problem with "Coster-Waldau is Jaime" theory (which is a good one, and one I support right now) is that he hasn't played a Romeo. Coster-Waldau has played Laertes in Hamlet, who also exclaims about a "rose of May," though it's in reference to his sister, Ophelia. And the clue wandering around the castle exclaiming about roses either refers to Jaime or Theon, and it can't be Theon if we're sure that Alfie Allen is Theon.

That is what came to my mind as well. It would also have changed history if one of the characters had managed to kill the king, as it was historically-based. Several of the actors could fit parts in SOIAF. Many are Irish or Scottish and award winning. Not only would they know the mountains that are being filmed to play Westeros mountains, but they are likely to audition as casting is being done in Ireland. Several have done Shakespeare. Several have been in one of the Harry Potter movies as well.

Sean McGinley, Brian Cox, Patrick McGoohan, Alun Armstrong, Brendan Gleeson, Tommy Flanagan, Ian Bannen, David O'Hara, Gerard McSorley, and Peter Mullan.
