I'm confused -- Sophie Turner, the same Sophie Turner who was on Doctor Who, is going to play ... Sansa? What?? She's an adult! Turner played a vicar on Dr. Who...she's like at least 30! This can't be right.

The Sophie Turner of Doctor Who I can find is the Vicar from the Family of Blood episode, and she looks a lot older than Sansa...Maybe she's playing Sansa's mom?

Then again, the article called Jaime a "usurper of the previous king" - quite the downplay of kingslayer.

Someone on the Hollywood Reporter commented that she is fact a different, child actress.

Now I want to see a 35 year old woman play Sansa XD

OMG Nicolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime? *thud* What a brilliant casting coup. He's going to make our favourite Kingslayer even hotter than he is in the books (even with one hand). Tamzin Merchant's very pretty and seemed decent as Katherine Howard on The Tudors so am hoping she has the chops to pull off the role of Dany (but she's definitely NOT 13! LOL)

So far, this cast is like a dream come true.

Yeah I really hope that it's a different actress. Sophe Turner is a pretty commmon name. Tamzin Merchan, I haven't heard of her before but she looks like a good Daenerys to me! She looks gentle and friendly, yet strong and independent.

Oh my, I must admit this: some of you guys did an excellent job with those cryptic clues!!!! I'm jealous yet proud.

Oh and in addition: Martin did cryptically state that both Sansa and Arya will be portrayed by relatively unknown actresses. So It can't be the "Old" Sophie.

Is it possible that Sophie Turner was cast to play *Caitlin* Stark, and not Sansa? With her coloring, I can see her pulling off Caitlin easily, but she's obviously much too old to be Sansa. Also, I'm dying for pictures of Maisie Williams, since Arya is easily my favorite character.

The rest of the casting is bloody brilliant!

And wow, we guessed them all right over on the Winter is Coming blog..! I loved the riddle game but I wasn't expecting we'd figure them all out!

Can you believe your devoted fans over at Winter is Coming got ~all~ of them correct, except for Sansa and Arya which we stood no chance of getting?

Thank you for letting me wake up to this, I can go to work happy now. Where I'll sit alone in the office for 3 hours and continue my re-read of the series and have faces to put to the names now. The voices will be harder since I first 'read' them as an audiobook and Roy Dotrice is awesome in all sorts of ways.

Actually, and oddly, I hope the actor for Dolorous Edd sounds similar, every time I read him I still hear Dotrice's reading clear as a bell.

When do you expect this pilot to be done? I know you're planning on filming to start late October, and I'm sure there is lots to do even after that is done. I would venture to guess that pilots take longer to produce than your average episode, since its the selling point that makes or breaks the series. Not to mention there are tons of other complications that could cause delays, but is there an estimated time of completion? Or perhaps there is a deadline it must be completed by for HBO to consider it for the following season?

Just want to know because frankly, the waiting is a killing us all.

The character I'm still most anxious to see cast is Littlefinger.

I'm so excited! This is a great cast and they all fit really nicely as to how I envisioned them in the books! I can't wait to see this series. And I agree about Littlefinger...looking forward to see how he is cast.
