As Jaime Lannister...

... we have Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

I dropped several hints about him. Dutch Treat - NCW played the lead in NEW AMSTERDAM. Going out for a Danish - NCW is actually a Dane. Shows get cancelled - NEW AMSTERDAM was cancelled by Fox. Characters get cancelled - NCW was also in VIRTUALITY, where his character was killed.

And too good to be true? When he was cast, I went searching for him on the internet, I found this on YouTube and couldn't resist:




Watch that, and I think you'll agree, he'll make a terrific Jaime.

My favourite role of his is in the film The Baker where he plays a hitman hunting after Milo, the main character. He's both menacing and screamingly funny in it. New Amsterdam was also a vastly under-rated show. NCW showed quite a lot of range in it. Fox's loss is our gain.

I have seen most of his movies (am Danish myself) and I find it mindboggling that they have cast him. While certainly a decent actor, I have seen very little in his movies that even vaguely gives a hint of playing someone like Jaime.

/shrug

(I am still psyched about HBO making this though, I can't wait for the first previews to hit the interwebs)

He looks like a fine actor. I've always pictured Jaime as appearing a bit more feminine, facially. But, at least you get to have your man crush. I'm not hating.

Yes he is a pretty boy. But he has that nose on his face that gives him a sense of uniqueness. It does not spoil his hotness, it enhances it. Yeah, he definitely marks the doom of passion. Poor Brienne.
