Taking another whack at the Meereenese knot today. I'm going to try breaking two largish chapters into four smallish ones, changing the order of events somewhat, and weaving them all together. Maybe that will work a little better.

Can it really be September?? Ack. I can feel the heat of those flames...

that's great artwork.
(FWIW, I hope to have good news on the calendar front soon)
I won't pressure you, I completely understand that, sometimes, you just don't feel like writing.
We'll wait. :)
It seems that this Meereneese knot will rock and be a mileage of ADWD.
I feel the premises are very high
Is it really hard to write, I know how you feel since I write myself (not good as you of course) so take your time and make the right decisions that you think are worth it.
Besides, I always love to read smaller chapters ;)
These little updates always make me feel cheerful.
As for the painting: Wow, that's magnificent work. The Hound should be a lot bigger, though. (Unless that isn't Beric Dondarrion dueling the Hound, and I'm just low on coffee or something.)
As to your knot unraveling, I'll raise a glass of wine to you when I have dinner tonight. I can't wait to have it in my hot little hands.
Whenever I start loosing interest in my (what i hope will be come a) novel, I just think to myself, "What would George do?" XD My head says George would take his time, not hurry and produce the best work that he can.
We're all cheering for you!
Watch football, spend time with his beloved, maybe drink some beers. THEN go up into the writer's garret refreshed, revived, and ready to let the voices fill his ears.
I think that's a great strategy :)
Just listen to your heart and do whatever pleases you the most. You've already wrote the best fantasy saga known to human race, and even if you wake up tomorrow and say: THAT'S IT GOD DAMN! I'm sick of this ice and fire, I don't want to write no more! - that will be fine for me, because the thing is, no matter how much AsoIaF books you write, it won't be enough for us (readers). We will always be hungry for more.
So either you stop writing in one moment or either you kill every character in saga (hmm, do I hear Dragon berzerk attack?) thus ending the whole epic tale :D
Cheers!
I'll read them all again and again, of course, but nothing will beat the first time. Unless I can somehow find a way to wipe my memory of it so that I could start again with no memory of what happens. Now that would be sweet. :)
btw, the attention to detail in all of this artwork is awesome. Beric's eye socket, for example.
Good luck slashing that knot!
