Our Headless Brother...

... has been a pig, a roach, and a fat friend. He's been known to hang about with highlanders, rabbits, and dwarfs.

Just sayin'

Yoren? Or...wait. Which Black Watch guy lost his head, right there at the beginning? The one Ned used Ice on...

Darn you, Mister Martin :) I just *re-read* "a Game of Thrones", too!

Winter is Coming already has two plausible candidates in
Richard Ridings
James Cosmo

If my dreams could come true, I'd say it's CLANCY BROWN, !!!the KURGEN!! playing the part of Gregor Glegane...who doesn't lose his head but neverthefuckingless that would be awesome!!

With my google-fu, I came up with Richard Ridings as well.

Richard Ridings played allan in fat friends. He was also in Red Dwarf, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Highlander. Guess we have our Gared.

No way it's James Cosmo for such a short role. Get him to play someone else, he's too good to have his head struck off in the pilot! Get him to play Pyat Pree or Cohollo or anything, he'll do it justice.

James Cosmo would be superb as Barristan Selmy.

I can already hear him saying, "I could cut through the five of you as easy as a dagger cuts cheese," and the audience buying it.

While I don't partake in the investigation, I do so enjoy the replies. Thanks G and guys.

Richard Ridings. I have no idea who he'll play or even what he looks like. I just know that's the right answer.

Bonus! Ties to Red Dwarf, yeah!

Oh wait, I need to be doing my work and not hanging around on a blog all day. My bad.

labyrinthine knots?
I hope a voice actor... usually the best actors.

Hoping the Meereen knot unravels.
Speaking of labyrinths, somebody told me (don't know the reference) that Minoans were canibals? Seems to about fit for Aztecs and Minoans, and maybe Meerenese. Just eliminate about 37 characters...

instead of a pilot, a series
This is not really on topic, so forgive me. But I’ve seen the word “if” attached too many times here to the HBO series. As I understand it, they’ll film a pilot, but they haven’t committed to a full-length series. Could GRRM fans mount a pre-emptive strike? Perhaps set a date, about a month prior to the pilot’s premiere, when we all call our cable providers to order HBO –- and we tell them why. (This won’t work for fans who already have HBO!) If anyone thinks this is a good idea, and they’re good at getting the word out, they should . . . get the word out. On an entirely different note, when was Jennifer Ehle cast? She’s so wonderful! If only they could fit Colin Firth in somewhere.

Re: instead of a pilot, a series
Much as I love Colin Firth, given how mean the series tends to be to characters, I don't think I could stand to see him in it. "Westeros'd" should be a verb or something, a la "Jossed" for Whedonites.

John Rhys-Davies (sp?) as Gregor Clegane
