And on the miniature front, here's a beautiful new painted version of the Maid of Tarth. The figure was sculpted by the incomparable Tom Meier, and painted by the fabulous Marike Reimer.

Brienne is also available in a version w/ helm. She... and the rest of the Ice and Fire miniatures... is available from the OnLine store at http://darkswordminiatures.com/

Wonderful.
or...
the mini just looks male to me - i'm not sure if it's the angle or what...
at least that's actual ARMOR.
Hi, by the way :)
Thanks for sharing the picture!
I building a Fire & Ice Army using Perry Brothers War of the Roses figures and wish I could use the Dark Sword figures as leaders/characters. Hope latter releases will be more conventionaly sized.

Makes me want to read the books again, which is the most you can ask a miniature. :D
I think its pretty much how I imagined her, tho I thought she will have a longer hair :)
Well its an amazing work.
Brienne is character dear to my heart-so this interesting to see-Imagination clashes with ideas...
-Loved the piece

Don't those actors and actresses understand what they is signing up for?!?
I think they will be O.K.
Nice model
Hi.
Well, the mini it´s awesome, anyway. And how it´s painted, too. Like all the others, although i choose Sansa and her snow castle as my favourite one.
I would like to take the opportunity to say here (and not two times) that i´m glad for the post "Not done yet", it makes me really happy. I can´t wait for it!! and thank you for an awesome story.
I love brienne...she makes the best of what she's got and is beautiful on the inside just like we all should be. Most of the miniatures so far have been excellent, but I'm thinking that darksword needs to redo Brienne.
Tom Meier, who sculpted this one, is one of the top sculptors in the business and regularly discusses proportions of miniatures in relation to real life people on his blog. It makes interesting reading. :)
The sculpture looks like the hips are as wide as the ribcage. Also, the thighs are not thick enough for the upper torso...I would expect Brienne to have slightly thicker thighs than hips even. I think Tom tried to make Brienne look like a man instead of a monster...which is what I felt that George was going for...not that Brienne looked like a man, but that her shape was distorted from what a woman or man should be.
Well...I'm not going to like all the miniatures, so this must be one of them.
The curls are a bit disconcerting, and I had hoped to see her with the shield she had repainted like Dunk's, but I like it nonetheless.
Wouldn't mind more "historic" figures ala Rhaegar, either -- the Mad King, Ser Arthur Dayne, the White Bull, etc.
