LOVE the GoO book with all its info & beauty, but never really understood how to play.

Was going to borrow the combat system, but after much consideration decided it was too deadly in a way that was pretty faithful to the books.

I dunno. I guess we wanted something that was lower fantasy than D&D, but not quite so brutal as the "What, you're not wearing armor? The arrow hits you and you start bleeding and nobody can stop it and you die. Next character?" Realistic, yes. Fun to play...? Don't know.

Was interested in the political influence system, which I gather was what you were supposed to use the game for. But I had to jump around a lot to figure out how the RPG was meant to be played, so eventually I put it down and just enjoyed the art and info.

I'd still be interested to see another version of the RPG.
Still in favor of the d20, though, because learning a new system is tedious and we all forget the rules after not playing for three months. Just my 2 cents.
