The Taxman Cometh

All the little bits of paper have been dealt with, and my accountant has come and gone. Now the ball is in his park. The only thing left for me to do is write several whopping big checks, once he's crunched the numbers.

Yay! Another monkey off my back.

All I have to do now is write my script for the HBO series, finish editing the new Wild Cards book FORT FREAK, write up my version of the last Suvudu cage match so Jaime doesn't lose to Rand al'Thor, complete A DANCE WITH DRAGONS, review some of the latest audition tapes for the HBO show, approve some game art, respond to a dozen or so urgent emails and three score less urgent ones.

Oh, and do another interview in... uh... the phone is ringing.

Sorry. Gotta run.

Jaime's down 52% to 48%.

This will not stand, ya know, this aggression will not stand, man.

Nice Lebowski reference. :)

Already voted for Jaime!

Don't forget to solve world hunger before bed.

Fantastic. :)
Apr. 7th, 2010 10:34 pm (UTC)
so, you'll be done by dinner then, eh?
Apr. 7th, 2010 10:36 pm (UTC)
You write these up?

Okay. I don't mean to bother you, but did you write up some sorta flash fiction mini-dialogue thing for the Jaime Lannister v. Cthulhu bit? Because, yeah, I'd like to see that. *L*

So in other words time to relax right :P

Hang in there, brotha.
Apr. 7th, 2010 11:11 pm (UTC)
Don't forget to sleep and eat as well, Mr. Martin. If you're too tired and hungry, you might get in a bad mood and kill a Stark. Really looking forward to your take on the Suvudu final, by the way, even though I already voted for Jaime.

Can't wait to see your write up for Suvudu! The one they wrote was horrible...

Apr. 7th, 2010 11:42 pm (UTC)
I never realized how much free time I had until I read this. I don't know how you manage to do it all!
Apr. 7th, 2010 11:44 pm (UTC)
And here I was proud of myself for getting the dishes done today.
Apr. 7th, 2010 11:57 pm (UTC)
well, sounds like you've got it easy for the rest of the year ;) I sincerely hope you have some moonshine or homebrew tucked in your computer desk to help you through the day!

of those things to do...
Can you work on DANCE first?

Apr. 8th, 2010 12:13 am (UTC)
So, you're not very busy then. Huh.
Apr. 8th, 2010 12:18 am (UTC)
Pleasing in a way
It shouldn't, but it makes me feel a tiny bit better that others feel as busy as I do. I get the feeling that you get more done than I do but it is good to know. You know?
Apr. 8th, 2010 12:44 am (UTC)
Actually, all you really have to do is finish ADWD. Seriously. You have my permission. Blow alla rest of that stuff off. Anyone gives you any grief, tell 'em I said it was okay.

Consumption tax
It feels good to get it done, though huh?

This is why we need to pass a national consumption tax. The amount of time and effort it takes to comply must cost billions of man-hours each year. I don't like calling it the "fair tax" because I hate propaganda and marketing-speak, but that's what it is.

Most states already have the mechanisms in place to collect consumption tax revenue, and the "prebate" ensures that no one pays taxes on monies earned up to the poverty line.

In the meantime, get Quickbooks. It's made my life a whole lot easier at tax time.

Who if not Jaime
- If Jaimie can bring anyone he wants, why not bring a faceless man? Surely if any one can, they can give the gift to Rand.

- I hope you didn't list the to do list in order :)

- I'm curious if Jaimie would have been your choice for the Suvudu match? Did they consult you? I have a feeling Jon Snow would have been the better choice (with snow beside him).

...There's a monkey on your head.
Apr. 8th, 2010 02:31 pm (UTC)
Monkey?? I don't see a monkey?? wierd...

On a totally unrelated note: George - are you losing weight??

Apr. 8th, 2010 01:46 am (UTC)
Oh, is that all? So it'll be done in, oh, five or six days, unless you do also go for solving world hunger, in which case... what, maybe a week or so? :)
Apr. 8th, 2010 01:58 am (UTC)
Good to hear you can relax a bit :)

Good luck with the rest of the list.
Apr. 8th, 2010 02:14 am (UTC)
If you have trouble sleeping, try adding world peace to your to do list.

Best of luck.

At first glance this seems like a terrible amount of work. But what it all comes down to is that you are successful and people want to read more of your work. Which really is great. I personally cant wait for at least three of those projects to be finished myself. Keep up the great work.
