Yes...definitely worth rereading several times. GRRM has woven like a hundred mini stories throughout the series which can only be gleaned from noticing a quip here and a loose lip there. Lives rise to aspiring heights or dash themselves on rocks even though they only get a sentence or two in each chapter. I don't know if he takes notes and makes sure to keep these mini stories alive or if it's just streaming out of his head, but...yes...be sure to reread them several times and prepare to be awed.
