The Only Living Boy in New York

writing
... or Santa Fe, as the case may be.

Half the editors I know have spent the weekend at comicon in San Diego, hobnobbing with many writers I know, attending fabuloous parties, enjoying great meals, and drinking in bizarre but fascinating human tapestry that is SDCC.

Tomorrow, off in Belfast, the cameras begin to roll on the HBO series. Northern Ireland is way ahead of us, so it's tomorrow there already. Only a few hours now.

And here I sit at my computer, still shoveling Snow. And snow. The snow won't stop. The squids don't like it much.

sigh

I'm missing all the fun, just to make more fun for you guys.

Re: How about...
No wonder why some writers hate fan fiction. Dude no offense, but i'm sooooooooooo glad you are not writing/involved with this. Praise R'hllor :)

Re: How about...
I agree. Leave the Snow to the storm that created it. Hell of a good storm too. I have always preferred the cold. ;)

Re: How about...
I intended it to be bad, so no offense taken.

If Mr. Martin had wanted to hack out a bad book then he could have been done years ago. My "fanfic" was intended as a humorous reminder of why he was putting in the effort (and missing these cool events), so that he could make ADWD good, instead of doing it half-assed like I did (though of course if Mr. Martin were to crank this book out it would still be infinitely better than what i wrote above). So the intent of my "story" was to be supportive and "so bad that it was funny". Sorry that I didn't make that clear, I only meant it humorously and didn't think that anyone would take it as a serious suggestion.
