Digging Out

Crawling slowly back to health... and sentience...

The two Giants games I watched yesterday did not help. Gak. Gak. Life is meaningless and filled with pain. The Manning Bowl was a horror, and the Titans game, if anything, was worse. I have never seen a team shoot themselves in the foot so much. They should have won the game by 30 points, the way the offense was moving, but mistakes and bone-headed penalties did them in. I can't believe my beloved G-Men are leading the league in turnovers. Tom Coughlin needs to bring out the chainsaw and rip a few new ones...

Haven't watched the Jets/ Dolphins yet. I'll get to that tonight, and then I will be caught up... at least on football.

Today, meanwhile, I have to take an axe and start hacking at the mountain of stuff that has accumulated while I was gone. All of which seems to be marked URGENT. sigh

The Titans game
Was the least Giants-like game I've ever seen them play. Yuck.

Then again, as a Lions fan (Caution: may contain football-like substance), I've seen some things that would curl your hair.

"Welcome to my world as a Cowboys fan for the last three seasons."

This. Exactly this.

The pundits already have Coughlin on the way out to be replaced by Cowher next year.

Been a fan of the Giants since I was a young lad of 9, making that 20 years this season. And I gotta say this, I wont give up on this season yet BUT. This team just doesn't have that kick ass mentality to it anymore. 5 years prior to last year the Giants competed every year for a playoff spot and a title, now it seems like their just out there to get by and not hungry for another title. And what the hell is up with Jacobs?! The man used to run people over now he runs away from the line. Maybe its time for a new coach......Bill Cowher anyone?

"All of which seems to be marked URGENT."
I'm recalling a fortune cookie from my past that read, "If everything is a priority than nothing is a priority." Best of luck on the hacking - might I recommend a claymore?

Go Bears!
Looking forward to taking on your G-men next week. Go Bears! The seven are certainly smiling on us this year.

In other news, the Steelers look fantastic!

(I won't post spoilers about the Jets, just don't have a heart attack during the game ;)).

Umenyiora, and Jacobs are cancers. They should have been moved during the off-season. Not much to do now, but hope the rest of the team can come to their senses. It's not their personalities, but Tuck and Smith need to call out the slackers and boneheads. Not publicly, yet.

The gruff Coughlin is too much for the current era player and the kinder, gentler Tom needs irreproachable team leaders.

Three seasons ago, things looked mediocre for most of the season. Let's hope the Gints wake up play to their potential.

Be thankful you are not a Redskins fan.

They just love to give their leads away, as if it were a kindly gesture or something.

In all honestly I'm pulling for the Redskins, but if we have to disagree on that, at least we can hope that Philadelphia doesn't stay at the top of the division.

The Broncos lost to the Colts on a terrible call from McDaniels. Sometimes I think Belichek dispatched all of his former assistants to act as sleeper cells in other organizations. Look at Cleveland - the place that fired him - he's had TWO former assistants do absolutely nothing there. The only place that seems not to have taken the bait are the Colts. Sigh.

But I'd take a straightfoward loss against the Colts than a heartwrenching screwup against the Titans. Maybe.

The now undefeated Bears are coming for your G Men, George.

Re: The Titans game
Though I'm a Bears fan, I have to agree that the Lions should have won that first game. Process or no, that was a touchdown at the end of the game, the Bears got really lucky on that call.
