If it is David Bradley (the farmer with the sea mine in HOT FUZZ, which is where he appeared with Rory 'Sandor/YARP' McCann), that's a brilliant choice. I was thinking of him previously as Craster, but he'd be a great Walder Frey as well.

I'm wondering if it's someone who has played Olivier in a movie somewhere (he's been a character many times, played by many actors).

That's got to be David Bradley, not sure who else has been in a version of Vanity Fair and a Pratchett series (Color of Magic)...pretty clever not mentioning JK Rowling and Mr. Filch. Also, you are one of the few fantasy authors who can type in the same room with Terry Pratchett. For this, you deserve honor.

It has to be David Bradley (Harry Lloyd played a character called JASON bradley in a tv movie called Vital Signs), plus all the aforementioned clues.

Although I'd love it to see Pete Postlethwaite involved (the Jason clue had me thinking), I'm going with David Warner as well. Which would be great.

I'll have to line up with the David Bradley line here... his trivia line on IMDB says:

"He was awarded the Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 1991 (1990 season) for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for "King Lear" at the Royal National Theatre."

Now, "ran into our dog here" - that means he's run into the sandor clegane - which means he's been at Kings Landing...

Looking at him playing Finch... he sure looks a lot like... Ser Ilyn Payne.

I think so, but is a shame: i would like so much seeing Bolton in the first season. I think i can wait until the second for Payne, but Roose bolton... Well, i guess you´re right.

And yes, Bolton must be played by a great actor.

i believe the clue about "might have run into our dog as well" would mean we should cross reference the guy playing Sandor, as the two might have done some screen time together already elsewhere. and i love the idea of "Argus" being Walder Frey!! He he he

I don't have a clue who the actor might be but the character sounds more like the Greatjon than the late lord Frey. Walder is a prolific daddy, but he's anything but big.

Yes, the role is Walder Frey, Lord of the Crossing. The Late Lord Frey, wedding caterer of infamy, who annoyed Dunk when just a child in "The Mystery Knight." And the actor is DAVID BRADLEY, best known for his portrayal of Argus Filch in the Harry Potter films. Who was presumably named after Argus the shipwright, who built the ARGO for a lad named Jason once upon a time.

Bradley has also appeared in works by all the aforementioned writers, and crossed paths with our Hound, Rory McCann, in HOT FUZZ.
