Back at home with the NFL. But weekends like this wear me out.

The Jets game was a horror. Bad enough that they lost to a mediocre Miami team they should have dominated. It was how they lost. Sanchez seems to have reverted to his rookie ways, throwing INTs every time he had the ball. Santonio dropped a sure TD. I think the Patriots game has robbbed Gang Green of their mojo, which does not bode well for the remainder of the season, with the Steelers and the Bears coming up. I am starting to have flashbacks to the great collapse of '86. Rex, Rex, work your magic, I can't take that again.

As for Big Blue, well, the Giants thumped a lifeless Vikings team playing without Brett Favre. The defense and the running game looked good. Eli, not so much. Two terrible INTs right out of the box. And now we have to play the Eagles on a short week. We haven't beaten the Eagles in what seems like decades. Time to end that streak. But if Eli keeps throwing the ball to guys in the wrong color jersey, it won't be easy.

Re: Rex has a big mouth
Rex is fun. He shoots off his mouth, sure, but there's always with a grin and a twinkle in his eye.

Evil Little Bill is a sour-faced dickwad.

George, if you're mad at him for the spygate thing (which even as a Pats fan, I was livid about) thats understandable, but I don't understand why everyone is so touchy feely about running up the score. If you have a defense out there (which is one of the best in the league) and you can't stop the offense, then doesnt that defense deserve to loose by a large margin? This isn't high school or even college, this is the NFL. These guys are professionals, if you want to stop them, then stop them. And it's not always the best thing to keep your MVP quarterback on the field when your up by so much. If the Jets wanted to make them pay they could hammer Brady (but that would require a pass rush). And you can't tell me that the Jets wouldn't have done the exact same thing. Braylon Edwards even admitted it. Spygate, understandable. Running up the score???
BTW: the HBO series looks tight, can't wait

Re: Rex has a big mouth
Sorry, don't buy the "everyone does it" defense.

Everyone doesn't do it. Look at the recent game between Giants and Seattle. The G-Men hardly threw a pass in the entire third quarter. They just gave the ball to their RBs, down after down, and ran the clock. A mercy killing.

Taking out your starters and putting in back-ups is also good.

It's called "sportsmanship." You've beaten the opponent. No need to kick them when they're down.

Re: Rex has a big mouth
To be fair, the Seahawks were playing with a non-QB and they had other injuries to key players. That guy has no right earning an NFL paycheck as QB.

Coughlin knew that he had absolutely nothing to worry about.

Also note that the Pats were running their basic packages on offense. The Jets were simply that bad.
