It's snowing.

On Jon. On the krakens. On me.

We all slog onward.

Finished a chapter a few days ago. Revised another. Then re-revised it.

The days go too fast, the work too slowly. But onward.

Well 2 chapters is better than no chapters ;D we appreciate the update!

Oh, but progress is good no matter how small the steps may be or how quickly they're taken! We're happy to hear about it, even when the pace isn't what some might hope it to be. Write on, write on!

Thanks for continuing forward. I do hope you're getting some satisfaction from it.

Snow, snow, snow... Been chanting that particular chant here in Germany as well. Lots of white and no end in sight. BTW, I can empathize with your football frustration - my favourite football team (well, that's soccer for you, I guess) over here isn't doing too well, either. This weekend, last match for this year.

Cheers to you!

Every time you post about Dance With Dragons, my toes tingle and my stomach lurches. Anticipation is high!

Even if the work goes slowly, when you are home, it goes. Just nice to have you at home and writing again GRRM. (I do rather envy all the travel you get under your belt)

As my drill sergeant, SSG Eastwood (no, realy) used to say, "Forward progress is everything."

That's the news I really would like to hear. I am not reading books again to delay the pleasure. I don't know how long I will be able to hold myself.
Dec. 20th, 2010 07:40 pm (UTC)
I know how that goes. I keep telling myself, "This will be the last time before DWD" and then I start itching to read them all over again. The last 100 pages of FFC are torturous.

thank you
you are the best thing that has happened to fantasy literature, and now HBO. thanks for all you do.

It's snowing here, too. If it continues like that I'll use my ski to go grocery shopping tomorrow because the buses won't get through. But I'm weird and LOVE snow.

Jon should be used to it by now, shouldn't he? :)

Just get a snow blower. Oh wait. You had one and it died. :)

You're amazing. You're doing everything you have to do. Thank you for the story.

I have to admit i love these posts :)

who is stronger though, Robert Baratheon or Gregor?

BTW please do not kill Brienne until jaime bones her

Re: excited
I think I know the answer to this one: Gregor. Robert Baratheon was ungodly strong, but it was a human-being level of ungodly strong. Gregor Clegane is *not* human-being strong. He's Hill-Giant strong.

If Snow can't deal with winter, no one can.
Dec. 16th, 2010 08:51 pm (UTC)
It was even snowing here in Israel
but it was only for 2 days... we need the winter badly...winter is coming...but not here! :(

Keep the good work Mr.Martin , it will light up the fire in our hearts when we will read it :)

Oh Ser, you just take your time. Quality over quantity... but we'll be getting both I know! One chapter done, another revised, then re-revised. Now this is progress we ALL can get behind!

Keep soldiering onward, ser.

Since it's cold here too and icy, I'm going to go reread the steamy, hot Dorne chapters in Feast!

Let it Snow... let it Snow.
Dec. 16th, 2010 09:15 pm (UTC)
Sounds as if winter really is coming. Thanks for the update.
Dec. 16th, 2010 09:23 pm (UTC)
Glad to hear a little about the progress! With all the other great things going on these days, I was hoping the book wasn't falling through the cracks!
Dec. 16th, 2010 09:24 pm (UTC)
Everytime I re-read the series, I love the krakens more. Even the ones I hate, I love to hate.

Jonnyyy boyyyy
Are Jon & Dany finally going to meet in book 6? We all know that he's one of the heads on the 3 headed dragon, who is the third? The only pre-requisite is dragon blood right? but can we bring back Darkstar from Dorne? I found the character fascinating and i enjoyed his cold-blooded nature, are we going to see more of him in book 6? To see him in Book 5 would be too good...

Re: Jonnyyy boyyyy
I think George has stated previously that dragon blood is not necessarily required. I highly recommend reading through the So Spake Martin archive on Westeros.org. Lots of great info in there.

Dec. 16th, 2010 09:59 pm (UTC)
Can't wait to read it, Mr. Martin!
