The Jets' Fan Lament

So many painful memories. This one strikes home.

Will this be the year Gang Green breaks the curse?

We will find out tomorrow at Foxboro.

Meanwhile, two games today. I love the playoffs. Glad I'm here to watch 'em.

Go Ravens!
Boom! There, I said it.
Jan. 15th, 2011 09:31 pm (UTC)
Go Hawks!!! Miracle year!
Jan. 15th, 2011 09:42 pm (UTC)
I am seeing a few parallels here with my favourite German Premier League team who are also having a rotten season (but won their first play-offs match today, *YAY*): their colors are also green-white.*g* Good luck for the Jets!

It all boils down to Sanchez. I know I know ...understatement. As a Titans fan originally from Nashville, I still remember the cheating Patriots warming up footballs on the sidelines and roughing up our receivers in Foxboro.

Lord Tywin..ahem....Belichek vs Robert..pardon me...Ryan is also a compelling contrast in coaching styles. J E T S Jets Jets Jets!!
Jan. 15th, 2011 10:41 pm (UTC)
Go Falcons!
Jan. 15th, 2011 10:49 pm (UTC)
I feel your pain, GRRM.
It's the same story for us Titans fans, who remember the thrill of the Music City Miracle only to be crushed by Iowa's Favorite Son and the Rams in 2000. And every year it's been hopes raised only to be dashed on the rocks of despair.

Alas, much like the Saints, this was not our year. Maybe next year with Vince Young gone us Titans fans can hope again.

=)Well, wish luck to your team.
We - in Eastern Europe - slightly envy you, since our football (soccer) is on holidays and we have to wait till February - resumption of European cups.)

Jan. 15th, 2011 11:45 pm (UTC)
We're extremely glad you're here to watch them too! (Not sure if you had a chance to watch the humor video I sent from The Onion on Bill Belichick - thought you'd appreciate it :-> ) Will be switching the TV today between the NFL playoffs and a one-day cricket match against England. Sometimes living here is very weird.

Given that the Jets are playing the Patriots, I will for a change be cheering for the guys in green. J-E-T-S!

The short answer is no.

The long answer is noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Jets- Patriots
What do you guys think about all this trash talking going on?
Jan. 16th, 2011 04:59 am (UTC)
good luck
Did you see the New York Post cover? I'd post the link but I'm not sure how to do it here. A Star Wars spoof, just saw it in the Yahoo sports football blog. go check it out, you'll probably get a good laugh out of it.

The Jets are going to have their feet trod upon tomorrow by the good guys.
Jan. 16th, 2011 08:08 pm (UTC)
But they're not playing the good guys. They're playing Vile Little Bill and his Evil Empire.
Jan. 16th, 2011 07:26 am (UTC)
The Jets look like they are running hot to me.

Go Bears!
Jan. 16th, 2011 04:53 pm (UTC)
Go Jets!
I don't believe in curses or anything like that, but it would just be nice to take down the evil Patriots today. I can't imagine how much Rex would run his mouth if they are able to pull off the upset...let's hope we get to find out! J-E-T-S JETS!
Jan. 16th, 2011 07:39 pm (UTC)
Good luck to your team today Mr. Martin...
The Pats and Jets meet for the season tie-breaker in the playoffs! A true fan wouldn't want it any other way. To complete the script here's hoping, on my end, that the good little foot-soldier, Danny Woodhead, has another monster game against his former employers and the Patriots boot Sexy Rexy and all his bluster back to NYC with his head hung in shame as he contemplates his feet. Good luck!

Did someone just kick me in the head?
Life is meaningless and filled with pain. My only consolation is that the Pats are a young team and this was a "rebuilding" year. Can't wait for the draft.

Good luck to your Jets the rest of the way, I hope they get stomped by the Pack or the Bears if they make it past Pittsburgh into the Bowl. ;)
Jan. 16th, 2011 10:56 pm (UTC)
surprising game so far
some big mistakes and the jets have provided some great passing defense. if the jets can convert the red zone into TDs i think they've got it. we'll see. the pats are not a team that will play the same in the 2nd half.
Jan. 16th, 2011 11:06 pm (UTC)
So Far So Good
Jets offense looked awful in 1st quarter but looked much better in 2nd quarter. Hope for more of the same in second half because I hate the Pats.
Ahoy Captain

It's been a great first half - GO JETS!
So far the first half of the Jets game has been exciting! 14-3 at the half, let's keep it together Jets!

Maybe this is their year!

Jan. 17th, 2011 01:08 am (UTC)
I am not a Jets fan, but after seeing the Lament Video I had to cheer for your boys today! Congrats on the win, I hope it is Jets vs. Packers in the SuperBowl!

Jets! Jets! Jets!

They are slowly doing it!!!
Jan. 17th, 2011 02:10 am (UTC)
Ugh, the Jets won. If they actually win the Superbowl I might burn my Dolphins jersey and go watch basketball.

Still I'm glad you are feeling better. Go Steelers!
Jan. 17th, 2011 03:32 am (UTC)
You can't spell upset without -E-T-S?

Look at that!!

Jets Win! Jets Win! Jets Win! Jets Win!
Jan. 17th, 2011 04:23 am (UTC)
Good for you and your boys George!
Gang green beat the hated Pats... great win for them... here's hoping they don't carry that same mojo into Pittsburg next week when they face my Steelers ;)
Jan. 17th, 2011 04:26 am (UTC)
I was rooting for the Pats, but...
Man, Derrelle Revis is so good at what he does, you can't help but be entertained.

Both sides of the game were well coached, the Jets were very well prepared, and Revis continues to make everyone around him look like clumsy oafs.

Even though both of my teams lost today (Hawks I expected...), I do not hold a grudge against the Jets. That was one heck of a game, well played, and someday, I'll be talking to my grandkids who won't believe stories about Darrelle Revis the same way they won't believe stories about Barry Sanders.

Jan. 17th, 2011 04:27 am (UTC)
Well now, seems we may see a meeting of the Greens! Great game today- but here's hoping the Packer's whomp the Bears and whoever wins the Jets-Steelers matchup.
Jan. 17th, 2011 04:29 am (UTC)
Congrats on the win Jets fans!
