Calendar Update

John Picacio has now completed all twelve paintings for the offical 2012 Ice & Fire calendar.

I can't show them to you, of course, that would spoil all the fun. I can tell you that the twelve months will show Ned (as seen here, on the cover), Arya, the Kingslayer, Sansa and the Hound, Melisandre, Bran, Daenerys, Jon Snow and Ghost, Robb the Young Wolf, Tyrion at the Battle of the Blackwater, the Mountain v. the Viper, and the Others.

I think you're going like it, kids.

The 2012 calendar will go on sale at the San Diego Comicon in July. John Picacio will be on hand to sign your calendars, and it's possible I may be there as well. Watch my Appearances page for more details on that. For those of you who can't make San Diego, the calendar is available for preorder on Amazon (although those copies won't be signed, obviously), and should be turning up at your favorite local bookstore by August.

Meanwhile, Marc Simonetti is already hard at work on the 2013 calendar.

"Sansa and the Hound" and "Mountain v. the Viper"???

I'm also thinking it'd be awfully swell if you were at Comicon. Just sayin. *grins*

Isn't there a way you can sell signed copies on your website itself? And are you ever going to have a signing in NM for your NM fans? Kinda sad that you live here but you're never actually HERE. :(

Re: calendar
I have signings in New Mexico at least once a year, and sometimes more often. You just need to keep an eye on the appearances page of my website. That's where all my signings are announced.

Re: calendar
thanks for your reply. I live on the southeast corner of the state (Carlsbad) but when Dance comes out I will travel to anywhere in the state where you are for a signing. :D

The look of Eddard Stark
Just have to say how much I love the calendar depiction of Eddard Stark. From the moment I picked up GOT, the image of Lord Stark that always popped into my head was that of Duke Leto Atreides from the '84 version of Dune. And Voila! There he is! Love it.

I could go for the Ice and Fire calendar becoming an annual family purchase for years to come. I suspect it will.

The Viper
That's a duel worth seeing. Can't wait to see this one at my desk next year!

Great depiction of Ned! It's just too bad that they didn't carry through with this look for the actual production. I hate the color and the style of the wig they gave Sean. The look he had with his own length hair and the the way they tinted it dark in the pilot was soooooo much better. Have no idea why they changed it. Robert and Ned look like twins with their identical wigs. I wanted Ned to look more virile.

The calendar sounds great! I'm glad it will depict the characters of the series; not that I don't also like the castle paintings we've seen before, but I prefer the people and/or events. Will Simonetti be painting characters or scenery?
