Life is meaningless and has no purpose.

And my teams both suck.

This could be a very long season.

oh that sucks, I know the feeling, Northern Ireland football team went from being top of the group to having no chance after losing two games straight and scoring own goals in both

Do not despair of the Jets. The game would have been tied if Justin McCairens had some sticky goop on his hands!

Kellen Clemens is going to be something special!

Clemens look fantastic in the second half. His receiving corp just let him down. If he can keep at that level and get some experience under his belt he's definitely going to have a starting QB job in his future.

I hear finishing books is an excellent way to cheer one's self up.

(Well, one's fans up, anyway.)

Being as I'm an NY Giants fan, I share your pain. But this is why you should enter fantasy football and/or survivor pools. It really gets you invested even when your team are doing terribly.

And believe it or not, I'm glad the Giants lost. I want them to do terrible this year, so Coughlin gets fired. I don't think we'll ever win anything with him at the helm. What I'd really like to see is the Carolina Panthers having an awful season also, so maybe John Fox gets fired and he gets hired as the new head coach for the Giants. It was a shame when we lost him the first time around. He's a much better coach than Fassel ever was.

I'm like you, but with Syracuse football. I would do so many things to get Greg Robinson fired...

I just feel bad because you live in Indianapolis. of course I'm slightly biased because my six months in Carmel, IN were some of the most stressful of my life.

I live in New England, and the Jets game was our second AFC game. I thought Clemens played a good game, and was a couple of dropped passes away from pulling that game out. The Jets may yet turn it around, don't give up on them yet.

The G-men, though.... :: shakes head sadly :: That was UGLY. I share your pain.

Life has no purpose
You think you have it bad? Try being a Vikings' fan. Winter is coming, but we play in a sucky dome, and haven't been to the Super Bowl since we actually played in winter. So we feel your pain.

By the way, what house would Cheatin' Bill belong to? Something that serves House Lannister, I am sure. Or maybe House Bolton or Frey?

Re: Life has no purpose
Hmmm, I'd say the Vale. Littlefinger and his trickery!

I'm also sadly a Vikings fan. I've learned to just be pessimistic always. After losing in '98 and losing the G-men 41-0 in the NFC Championship game, I've lost all hope.

I too am a Giants fan and I like the Jets, but not a true fan.

However, I had every expectation that the Gints would stink. After all, we have an organization that's married to the belief that we have Payton instead of Eli. There were no great improvements on the lines and the battle is won in the trenches. The running game took a hit simply because Coughlin doesn't get that you treat you best players and proven veterans differently than you do rookies and the rest of the team.

5 games... If they win more I'll be doing cartwheels. Go Blue!

As for the Jets. I am a bit surprised. I don't follow them closely, but I'm guessing they will improve and likely be in the running to make the playoffs.

So, the winter may be cold, but maybe the autumn will be hot. Let's go Mets!

Well, I won't pretend to commiserate with you on the Giants; not today, at any rate. :)

The Jets are better than they played, though. They should be, at least.

I find it interesting that on the same day the Patriots got their wristslap, the Maclaren team in F1 racing got hit with a hundred-million dollar fine for stealing a copy of Ferrari's playbook.

I predicted at the beginning of this season that it was going to be a long one for the Boys in Blue. I hate being proved right.

I am hopeful that we just left our real team at home and once we have a home game we will be able to play again....Monday. Dome.

You can't go 14 - 2 without losing the 2!
(yeah lifelong saints fan. i can dream.)

Personally, I'm worried about impending apocalypse due to the fact that the Lions are 2-0. First the Tigers, and now this... what the hell is going on in Detroit lately?

(I'm also worried that the Wings are going to have to start sucking to make up for it. Sigh.)

Raiders took Denver to overtime today. They will double last year's victories and upset at least one good team (not New England or Indianapolis though)

long season
"It's a long season" is a dicho doble per Hemingway. We're only two games in; there are many chances to turn things around. Of course, part of the joys of fandom is ripping on your teams when they lose, but even a hyper-critical fan such as me doesn't give up after two games. Now they both get down 0-3, that's a problem.
