My first instinct is that it was someone who was in Star Wars and the Tudors, but I don't think such a person exists. (And even if he did, odds are since I came up with that quickly it wouldn't be who you were hinting at anyway, you evil man ; )

No, honestly, I can never make heads or tails of these things. I'm terrible. :( But does this mean they were in Indiana Jones and Star Wars? Or just Star Wars (since they would know "Indiana Jones" from working with Harrison Ford)....

Derek Jacobi has played characters who were poisoned ("tasted") twice. If that's the character, sounds like Maester Cressen.

Julian Glover is already on the show, so he doesn't make sense as a casting clue...

Oliver Ford Davies? Right age, credits look right too...

Given his age, I'd guess Cressen? He'd make a fine Ser Denys Mallister, too, if for some reason he was brought in early. Or Lord Hoster?
