Vengeance is his. Frankenstein and Nessie are friends of his, but don't say he's never been human... but was he Irish or Eskimo? Born in Scotland, that we know. He's been a fisherman, a minister, an inspector, and a malingerer. Down the slippery slope he slides, toward the kingdom of bones, but will he lose his head?

It's actor JOHN STAHL.

He will be portraying one of Robb Stark's bannermen, Lord Rickard Karstark.

The major roles for season two of GAME OF THRONES have all been filled, but casting continues in London, Belfast, and Dublin for various smaller parts.

Just a guess

Could he be Brian Cox? Huge part as thr great king Agammemnon in Troy. Greetings from Portugal. Hope our ancient and in some sort epic history, could inspire, some day, the most gifted and tallented writer of our days.

I was thinking Patrick Bergin, as he has a lot of the right credentials, but he wasn't born in Scotland. Dangit. My brain hurts.

He was also in BEING HUMAN which seems to clinch it.

Recalling the role in the series (he played a pathologist in three episodes of Season 2), he's definitely rather older than I'd expect Qhorin Halfhand to be. I think a lord is more likely ("Vengeance is mine, said the lord," is a common misquote of the line in the Bible).

Other elements suggest Lord Karstark. We already had an actor cast in the role for Season 1, but since his name is never mentioned on-screen and he had one line, not a huge deal.

Since A STORM OF SWORDS seems to have been split into two seasons, it's likely that Oberyn wouldn't appear until near the end of the third season at the earliest, potentially not until the start of the fourth.
