HBO gave us all a little taste of season two of GAME OF THRONES tonight, with an "In Production" feature before the latest kickass episode of BOARDWALK EMPIRE.
In case you missed it...
Lots of our new second season characters can be glimpsed therein... Melisandre, Stannis, Davos, Brienne, Margaery, and so many more...
You'll meet them all in April.

So, does this mean they're sticking with "Game Of Thrones" as the title for the whole Song Of Ice And Fire?
(coincidentally, I'm rereading the first book now, and can't get Sean Bean's voice out of my head...)
She has a helm on.
I couldn't find her either until I saw this.

can´t wait!!!
Under the sea, The Flowers eat the Lions and Natalie Dormer is in my wet dreams. I know, I know, oh, oh, oh.
I am new to the books(recently read all five). What I cannot figure out is this- What is the basis of years in westeros? Years were introduced as a unit of time based on when the seasons recurred, in civilizations of old. What is the basis of years in westeros? Was there a time in history of westeros when seasons repeated yearly?
I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question, I am sorry if it is not.
Last April I caught the first episode of GoT when it aired. I wasn't looking for it, it was more a "Hey, I wonder what's on tonight" scenario. But immediately I was hooked. I mean like, at the end of the introduction before the credits. By the end of Ep3 I started salivating each week, counting the hours until Sunday night.
At the conclusion of Episode 10, pissed as I was that I was going to have to wait so long to find out what happened, I logged on to Amazon and overnighted the four available novels. I finished all four in a few weeks (yes, my life came to a sudden halt) and RUSHED out the night ADoDs came out (Which I promptly read in 3 days)...
Anyway, I say as this to make a point. And now to my point as I know your time is limited fighting the monkeys it were: I was FINALLY able to get my hands on the three Dunk and Egg novellas this weekend. To my surprise, I liked them even more than ASoIaF.
I hope that series runs a LONG time. Thanks you, Ser! (Spell in proper Common Tongue of course.) Oh Geeze! I've become one of those people.
The fruits of your imagination is now creating jobs for a great many people in Iceland. I want to send you thanks, once again, for your genius and your labour in creating these wonderful books. :)

I am looking forward to Jon Snow story to continue in the movie. He is in my opinion the most interesting character of the book who has classical hero appearance. I think it was Joseph Campbell who made a list where it is described what features any hero in western literature should have. I don't remember all of them by heart, but some are
1. one of the parents is unknown
2. character possess some secret strength
3. character have some extraordinary weapon
4. he is loved by different women
5. he is honorable and just
6. quite often he has very humble origins though his real blood line is noble
etc and etc
I had this list somewhere and once I read all 5 books and saw the movie it came to my mind right away. So I am looking forward to see him in the new episode and hopefully in the new 6th book.
