Not sure if you saw the round-up on The Huffington Post, but in their Golden Globes Snubs and Surprises, they mention the GoT cast:
SNUB: The "Game of Thrones" cast for every category besides Best Supporting Actor

Normally, the Golden Globes folks love anything made by HBO (often to an unreasonable degree -- look at the "Mildred Pierce" nominations). And of course, the nods for Peter Dinklage for Best Supporting Actor and the show itself are well-deserved, but where is the love for Lena Headey, Sean Bean, Maisie Williams and Emilia Clarke? No show on television had a better ensemble cast, and if there isn't more Globes love for the rest of the actors next year, we may have to sic some direwolves on the Globes voters.

Great that the show is getting some sort of recognition, hopefully it's a good thing for genre television in general.

Taking a personal pride in your success
Do any other long-time Ice & Fire fans almost feel a personal pride in how well Game of Thrones is doing? It's almost like a hometown team making it to the championships for me. :)
