Arguing with other people on Facebook about Stannis. A lot of them were expecting a beard. I don't know why. They also thought he'd be portly. I don't know why.

I think this guy is perfect.. but he looks like he MIGHT have smiled in his life. ;)

Dude, these are all awesome.

The only thing that distracts me is how normal Mellisandre looks.
In my head, she has this unnatural red glow to her that can only be achieved through CG, and she just seems far too muted/washed out here... compared to my imagination.

My feeling exactly. It's the filter they're using, which seems to have become normative for "medieval" films. It's really bad here; Mellisandre is supposed to wear BRIGHT red and have BRIGHT auburn hair. If I didn't know from the books I'd think she was wearing maroon and grey.

Love all the actors that play the kings, especially Jack Gleeson. I think that Joffrey must be difficult to play and he is doing an wonderful job. As is Richard Madden, I really felt and liked that they gave him more role in the series.
I hope Stephen Dillane does well, I am expecting a lot from him (I heard so many good things about him and I like Stannis, so my expectations are high).
And Melisandre looks, to me, like Little Red Riding Hood xD. I am also expecting many good things from her. :)

And Robb...The King in the North (or is it 'of' the North? I keep getting it mixed up :S)

Looking forward to seeing how Melisandre's...well, unique characters will be portrayed.

cant tell from the picture, did they spring for the contacts to give melisandre the red eyes. hope so. my feelings are similar in that she is supposed to be unsettling so the red eyes just feel essential

I agree, a beard and about 15 pounds of muscle would really help convey Stannis' sterness, but I'm sure this man is a great in the role, we haven't been disappointed yet! I also expected Davos to have a little less grey in his beard, but that's a mighty small gripe!

Peter Dinklage is great, but I really think Jack Gleeson was overlooked throughout awards season. It can't be easy to act that nasty. At least, I hope it's acting. Anyway, can't wait!

I totally read that at first as saying Stannis was being played by Carice van Houten, which would be...odd. :P

Melisandre looks very interesting. Different than how I imagined, more subtle. I hope the actress is able capture her darker side. Mel adds a very scary aspect to the second book.

Jack Gleeson plays an amazing Joffrey. He and Sophie are going to have some very powerful scenes together.
