Irri, of course, me-nem nesa!
Feb. 18th, 2012 09:37 pm (UTC)
:D Lady Stoneheart?! Olenna?! That they're even being considered is enough for me!
Feb. 19th, 2012 04:38 am (UTC)
I know!!! I want a Lady Stoneheart figure!!
Feb. 18th, 2012 09:46 pm (UTC)
Oberyn Martell!
Feb. 18th, 2012 10:47 pm (UTC)
We've done Oberyn already. Go to the Dark Sword website and you will find him there.
Feb. 18th, 2012 11:04 pm (UTC)
I'd vote for The Old Bear first, a mounted Drogo second, and Jorah third...
Feb. 20th, 2012 10:38 pm (UTC)
Mounted Drogo?
Who will Drogo be mounted on (or is it upon?) in the statue? Wouldn't it be Drogo mounted on Dany? I bet that one would be No. 1 in sales by a lot!

What, no Hot Pie?!
Feb. 18th, 2012 11:18 pm (UTC)
Jon Snow's mother!
Feb. 18th, 2012 11:19 pm (UTC)
Doran Martell! Dorne needs more love. :D
Feb. 18th, 2012 11:41 pm (UTC)
I'd rather have miniatures of you instead George! I'll need two to serve as bookends for my hardbook collection. :D
Feb. 19th, 2012 05:26 pm (UTC)
No - one of George and one of Parris - that would be totally cool. Austin Bronze would do a wonderful job on the bookends. Ser Martin are you listening??? I think a collectors package of special hardcover editions with the bookends (just kidding about George & Parris) but how about dragons ... personally I would love to have that.

Maybe Mr. Martin's assistant could post a poll to see how much interest there is in this - and sell them on a pre-order basis. Just sayin ....

The Queen of Thorns, the Old Bear, the Onion Knight, and Prince Doran Martell -- that man's gotta have one of the twistiest minds in fiction, and the Rose isn't that far behind!
Feb. 19th, 2012 01:24 am (UTC)
I thought the whole point was the Daenerys was mounted on Khal Drogo?
Feb. 19th, 2012 03:09 am (UTC)
Olenna Tyrell, modeled after Betty White!
Feb. 21st, 2012 04:44 pm (UTC)
or Linda Hunt
Feb. 19th, 2012 03:55 am (UTC)
It's a testament to the consistency of your characters, George, that these votes are so evenly distributed. Even the "less popular" characters have a reasonable amount of votes.
Feb. 19th, 2012 04:44 am (UTC)
But I want them all! :o)

They already did young Robert, so I would have voted for a Rhaegar to go with him if I could have. Hopefully his absence just means he's already in the pipeline! Dark Sword's minis are amazing!

PS. How did you like Tom Meier's 54mm Ser Loras?
Feb. 19th, 2012 05:30 am (UTC)
I voted for Strong Belwas, Stoneheart, and the mounted Drogo.
Looking at their other miniatures, I'd think more people would want strong Belwas simply for how unique he would look next to all of the knights in their armor.
Feb. 19th, 2012 06:59 am (UTC)
Voted for the Onion Knight and Dolorous.

Where's Stannis? :'(
Feb. 19th, 2012 07:32 am (UTC)
We've already done Stannis.

everything needs more Davos.
Feb. 19th, 2012 09:23 am (UTC)
1. Ser Barristan the Bold
2. Jeor Mormont
3. Khal Drogo

Doran's being considered? Seriously? No one can paint gouty legs! :(
Feb. 19th, 2012 09:45 am (UTC)
Come on, Dolorous Edd must win!!
Feb. 19th, 2012 10:21 am (UTC)
Great announce. I also want them all realized soooon.

And considering number of ASOIAF characters – all of them unique:
It will be almost a new ‘never-ending story’ or similar unfinished business.

A have a close friend of mine who use to write in some forums under a nick A-tre-u.

He and I enjoy closing together for hours and playing with ASOIAF char-set miniatures. We often forget to eat.

Vote Rorge and Biter!!!!!!!!!!!

Gracious Ser, could you tell me the approximate size of these miniatures? DH and I are AVID collectors. We have a humongous glass display case of Ice and Fire miniatures right above our shelf of our favorite fantasy works. They unfortunately are under lock and key... after taking a toddler to the ER due to a swallowing incident, we have learned the hard way! LOL

(he's fine and thank the seven it went down and he didn't choke on it as we were playing our MUSH at the time)

We're not going to stop having babies and we'd love to keep collecting too! So could you say these are 3 years of age and up, sizewise?????
Feb. 21st, 2012 09:34 pm (UTC)
The minis are way smaller than a 3-year old child if that is what you mean. :o)

They're 32mm scale, I'm pretty sure, which means the normal human-sized minis are around an inch tall, give or take a sixteenth or two. Big guys like the Mountain are obviously a little bigger, and small people like Arya and Tyrion are a little smaller. If they're not 32mm, they're 28mm, which is a tiny bit smaller still. Pretty sure they're 32mm though.

They also have 54mm versions of Tyrion, the first Dany mini, and an incredible new(ish) Ser Loras that Tom Meier sculpted up in secret as a surprise for Mr. Martin which I am surprised not to have seen him post about here yet since it's been in Dark Sword's online store since mid-November and was announced in their newsletter back around the same time. Those ones should be almost twice the size of the 32mm minis; a little harder to swallow, but probably not completely impossible.

So yeah, definitely a choking hazard for small children, especially the ones that require assembly, since those come with extra swords, heads, shields, limbs, or what have you, which can occasionally fall off if they're not glued on that well or get bumped around too much. Keep'em locked up or out of reach for sure as long as you have young children in your house.

Out of curiosity, what Ice & Fire minis have you got in your display case, if you don't already know how big Dark Sword's Ice & Fire minis are? Only similar products I know of are some larger busts that are way too big to choke on, plus a very few minis that were put out by Testors a few years back which can be quite hard to find.
Feb. 19th, 2012 04:35 pm (UTC)
How about an unnamed miniature of a new point of a view character from the next book?
Feb. 19th, 2012 05:19 pm (UTC)
No miniatures for me - I actually prefer larger action figures LOL!!

Ser Martin when can be look forward to more sword replicas???? Those are of interest to me as my partner and I collect weapon replicas.

Feb. 19th, 2012 05:32 pm (UTC)
Please make The Onion Knight! Ser Davos loves his children, his wife, and his king... And I love him.

Stoneheart all the way!
Lady Stoneheart would be such a cool figurine. Of all on the list, I think she'd be the most interesting to behold. Needs to happen.
Feb. 19th, 2012 10:21 pm (UTC)
Dolorous Edd. But he might be better as a plush figure so I can give him a much-needed hug.
