April is Coming

enthroned
The hits just keep on coming.

HBO has rolled out yet another season two trailer.

Some of the clips in this one look to be from my own episode, "Blackwater." First time I've seen them. Exciting stuff,

Of course, I'm prejudiced as hell.

Awesome! I like the different music. I think it could help draw a different audience. Tyrion's armor is stunning. And I'm interested to see how they do the Robb/Jeyne romance, since we never really had a close-up look at it :)

You'll get a close-up look at the romance between Robb and...

... well, you'll see.

That's probably the best trailer yet (which is high praise already, since the others weren't exactly chopped liver). I'm digging the Florence and the Machine selection. And yay for another GRRM-penned episode!

I loved the music selection too (though I'm a big fan of Florence + the Machine!). I think it's very appropriate!

Excellent trailer. I've never been so excited about the first of April! :)

My goosebumps have goosebumps! In my experience, there are few things more satisfying than seeing your favorite book series be re-born in another medium to become your favorite television series.

Also, the men of this show are so foxy.

Looks great
Why wont George mention Jeyne by name? I actually don't recall any casting news for her character (which could be my over sight). Is this another character with a changed name, or even a changed character? Is she still a Westerling?

Asha was changed because her name was too similar to Osha. There is Jeyne Poole to consider, but as far as I recall, she does not appear in the series (which makes me wonder how some scenes in Dance are going to play out on the screen).

Oh well... I just hope later seasons lead to increased episodes counts, or two seasons to cover the later, larger books. 10 episodes a year is not enough. True Blood has 12! The Walking Dead got 13 for season 2. Game of Thrones should have 16!

Re: Looks great
By the time they get to ADWD, they can cast someone for the part you are thinking about, since we haven't really seen her, and probably won't until she has a speaking part.

Wah, a lovely trailer. Like dannister, I'd love to see how they do Robb/Jeyne. :) I was hoping we'd see a bit of Ygritte in this trailer. :(

Also, the background music is badass.

The lack of Stannis makes me sad.
But I love the new Arya, Robb and Tyrion clips! And the Hound kicking ass. I'm very excited for your episode :)

So excited. Thank you for these characters, and thanks for letting us have another way to take them in. Also, echoing the comments about Florence. Love her voice. Great song.

Jamie looks even better with a beard than I'd envisioned. More importantly, first look at the Unsullied?

Lena Headeys character's becoming more and more beautiful, especially since she's not sharing a wig with Emilia Clarke)))

Magnificent!
This is the best trailer so far. Florence and the Machine soundtrack hits the right spot. I've just finished reading A Dance With Dragons and wanted to thank you for this incredible story you're telling us with so much passion, so cleverly. Keep up the brilliant work.

George will be doing all sorts of events over the weekend
The convention start Friday afternoon, ends Monday, and there's a dead dog at the hotel on Monday night. Some of the major events have been nailed down, but any program schedule is likely to change due to factors outside the control of the convention or attendees, so it is wise to have some flexibility in your own schedule, and check the updates of the daily program the convention will announce throughout the weekend.

Adam Whitehead, of the most excellent SF/F review blog, the Wert Zone (http://thewertzone.blogspot.com/), will be interviewing George, right now scheduled for Sunday afternoon.

Also scheduled are signing sessions, and a few panels with other attendees on various subjects. One highlight should be the WILD CARDS panels. Some of the creators/writers, including George, will celebrate 25 years of WILD CARDS, discuss the experience of working in a shared world, and upcoming WILD CARDS projects.

If you haven't already done so, do check out the Brotherhood Without Banners forum at http://asoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/forum/7-brotherhood-without-banners/. As always, the Bros are planning to host some most excellent events and get-togethers. It's a good way to meet other GRRM readers and make some new friends.

We are bringing over some GRRM-related objects of desire to donate to the convention's charity auction which will benefit OXFAM and the fan charity TAFF, as well as a few things for the BwB fundraiser that helps them underwrite the costs of their events and parties. The auction supports the convention's charity, and you can find items that are not available for retail sale, are rare or collectible, often at very good bid prices. I use them to find unique things to give as gifts for friends, since it's hard to find the perfect gift for fellow book lovers and media geeks who already have accounts with Think Geek and the major SF/F book dealers. Usually, the auctioneers and the audience are all in for a good time, so we have a good time while doing good deeds.

We hope to have more information we can share about specific events at the convention before we leave for the UK. Just remember, there can always be changes at the last minute.

See you there!

I AM EXCITE!
The trailer is truly EPIC. The camera angles used to show Jaime make the "cell" look barren and huge. Heck, many of the shots used in this trailer showed off giant, wide expanses and landscapes.

Did I mention epic? EPIC.

Some beautiful music from Florence and the Machine that fit wonderfully with this small trailer. I really hope they use some popular, yet not so well known music like this, in the Show. Somehow I heard this music and one of my favorite scenes in the books came back to me, where a Black Brother has his last stand in the forest with his dagger, and it brought some tears to my eyes. In addition, only a snippet, but some Powerful acting by the Halfman.
