I wish I got HBO :( Maybe i should resubscribe for the 12 weeks or so that this season is going to be on for.

I am so excited for the new series.

Have been reading the books since I was fourteen.

Awesome! I really can't wait for season 2 to start and all the previews and interviews that HBO is releasing just makes the anticipation even stronger!

I'm so ready that for the first time in my life I signed up for HBO. And yes, I told them why.

Last season I kept finding reasons to go over to a friend's house and watch it.

I got chills on at least four separate occasions while watching this. I couldn't agree more regarding the female roles. Mr. Martin, you have made such a beautifully female-friendly show; you pull no punches regarding the patriarchal, often misogynist world in which they live, thereby staying true to the struggle women face/d in such a world. And yet you still show us powerful, strong, courageous, flawed, realistic, human women who don't fall into the classic mother/maiden/whore trap. I cannot thank you enough.

I was ready for the new season as soon as I saw Daenerys come out of the pyre.

Ready for the season. Ready for the next book, for that matter so put your nose back on the grindstone.

I used to be so excited for this (don't know if you got my other comment today), but then I see Stannis/Melisandre being portrayed as having a steamy hot affair which to me seems so out of character based on what I (among others) got from the books.

I'll wait and see, but yeah not excited anymore.

(Still love your books though!)

Dear Mr. Martin just want to say THANK YOU for A song of Ice and Fire :) I´m reading A Storm of Swords just now and these books are the best I've ever read!!! I can´t stop reading...love it! And of course can´t stop watching it too - can´t wait for season 2 in April :)

Am I ready? I've been ready since last season ended!!

I just bought all 5 books last summer, gonna get Season 1 on Blue-Ray once tax return check comes in (plus Birthday cash is possibly coming) sooooo yeah, I'm ready as I will ever be.....Now April 1st just needs to get here darn it.

(wouldn't it be really horrible that for April Fools Day, the season premiere doesn't show up but is reschedule for the following Sunday?)

Hope its better than season 1.Just sayin'. Of course I'll be tuning in anyway!

in 50 pages I will be ready for The Winds of Winter, I am totally psyched about your cliffhanger for our beloved bastard. because I can't believe it isn't a cliffhanger!
And I also hope The Ugly Girls stall at Braavos, she was my favourite character because of her very adventurous destiny. Now she pretty much is just a stall character sitting at one place. I hope that is just a building up her experience.

I can't wait to see Tyrion stand up to Cersei. I'm looking forward to that even more than I am to the naval battle. Even though I know it's the naval battle that will force my husband to finally read the books!

Just wanted to say that the work you have done on these books is just mind staggering! I really thought that there could be nothing more to fantasy that hasnt been done but you prove me wrong! And to see that your work is being done to this awesome cinematic series is just great and as a writer of the books you must feel honored.

I watched the first season without having read the books to see if I could understand it. My husband had read the whole series and answered any questions, but they were few. HBO did a great job. Naturally, the books are better, because books always are. Thank you for this world and these characters. April 1 cannot come fast enough for me!
