New Season
I am very excited. I have my Land of Ice and Fire Maps and I am going to reread the series now. I should finish them before the season 3 premier. I have my hopes up that by then GRRM will give us a relase date on #6 of ASOIAF. Keeping my fingers crossed GRRM ;)

Congratulations! Between yourself,HBO,the writers and the utterly fantastic cast you've managed to not only keep us watching, but kept us at the edge of our seats. I can't thank you enough for sharing your amazing storytelling talents with us all

Peace!

I've been watching the first two seasons over and over and over in wait of season 3... I think I've watched each of them 5 times already. Please HBO stop torturing us! :)

Winter is Coming....day after my Birthday!
I've been excited now for the second year in a row! I hope this stays consistent where the season premiere is on this date cause my birthday is the day before (3/30) so this is like a belated birthday gift.

So no matter if I don't get anything great for my birthday, I will have Game of Thrones season premiere the next day. So thank you indirectly for creating a great book series so that an equally great TV series can be made! Thank you sir!

Time to get HBO again
So I am not the only one who orders HBO just for Game of Thrones and then cancels it as soon as the season is over?

Re: Time to get HBO again
No, you're not the only one... but you're missing some great television by doing that. BOARDWALK EMPIRE is on right now, and it's terrific, and HBO does some kickass original movies too, like last year's Emmy winning GAME CHANGE.

Re: Time to get HBO again
Agreed on Boardwalk. The three best TV show intros (at the moment) are Boardwalk, Game of Thrones, and Dexter.

Re: Time to get HBO again

Though I can't disagree with those choices, Breaking Bad and Mad Men (both non-HBO, I realize) are also deserving of consideration -- the Mad Men intro might even rival your top two or three.

Re: Time to get HBO again
Yeah HBO is great. Boardwalk Empire is my second favorite behind Game of Thrones. And whenever Curb Your Enthusiasm has a season it's always good. Deadwood was also a fantastic show.

Winter is Coming
An ad popped up on my Facebook timeline for Target yesterday. The copy:

"Winter is coming. Style your great indoors with our new home catalog."

I have no interest in styling my indoors, but I still got a big smile after reading this. Same thing happens when I drive down Stark Avenue on my way to work. It's the little things in life...

discovery on re-read
I started rereading Dance with Dragons the other day, and was pleased to discover that the end of the book makes sense. I was confused by the why--now I get what is unfolding--it took a careful re-reading of the first part of the book though--great stuff. Love it.

Can't wait for the new season to start! I haven't been following the "Not-A-Blog" much lately, but I'm going to return more often now that the personal dramas have calmed a bit. I'm almost done with a re-read of the series. I must admit that ADWD makes SO much more sense in context with the rest of the series. I will not make the mistake of reading the next book before revisiting the previous volumes again! I had forgotten many details, overlooked others and had a few just plain wrong. I'm very interested to see where "The Winds of Winter" takes us. As for football: the Giants...what happened? They look like a SB team one week and a pretender the next! I suppose the silver lining for the G-Men is that they did this same thing last season. They seem to pull it together at the end. As for Gang Green, I think the rot has spread too far to spare much. They are not only up a creek without a paddle, they have a busted hull and are heading for the falls! They need a new coach, new scheme and new QB (not named Tebow). Let's face it, they need a complete overhaul. They looked inept against my Seahawks, who have a tendency to make bad teams look good. Although, I think the Seahawks are heading in the right direction; IF they can beat a team other than Carolina on the road.

Sooo, if I would like my annual ASOIAF Feast to coincide with a certain, ah... colorful wedding, which week do I schedule it for?

The Last of the Giants...
Here's to hoping that the show includes the scene where they sing The Last of the Giants. Easily my favorite scene, and if done right it could be nothing short of amazing!
