Turkey Day

Happy thanksgiving to all my family, friends, and readers.

I have a lot to be thankful for... and you guys are a huge part of that.

It has been another amazing year.

Keep reading, all. I'll keep writing.

Now go eat some turkey (or ham, or goose, or terducken, whatever your pleasure).

Hi Ser Martin,
have a wonderful day today on Thanksgiving. I am thankful for many things, you are truly one of them. The world of Fire and Ice has had a significant impact on my very essence.

Many Thanksgiving wishes to you, Parris and the extended Terrapin Station posse.

Happy Thanksgiving George. I'm thankful for your interaction with the fans, your books, and that you are "alive and well". I will definitely keep reading, most notably Ice and Fire and Dunk & Egg.

Eat well, hope the writing goes well, and enjoy some football!

There is nothing better...
Than enjoying a feast with the family, watching football, being off from work for four days, and relaxing in this perfect autumn weather with a GRRM book on my lap.

Happy Thanksgiving George.

Happy Thanksgiving!
I sincerely hope you spent your day surrounded by those you love...by those who love you...and that you ate enough good food that you never want to see another turkey (at least until NEXT Thanksgiving). You, sir, are an inspiration to us all.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too, George!
I suggest you and Parris whip up a batch of Tur-Chili and take a day to relax.

All the best.

Hmmm, tough decision: which do I hate more, Jets or Patriots? :->

Hope y'all have a good Thanksgiving! Miss seeing you this year.

Happy holidyas sir. Congratulations on your great work. I just finished the fifth book of A Song of Ice and Fire and I HAD to watch the series again to notice every little detail. I just had to do it hehe.

Anyway, thank you for this masterpiece.

Thanksgiving wishes
I am thankful for many things too- but thank *you* for creating a world to lose myself in, and for continuing to write.

I will strive to wait patiently; not get cranky and impatient on you- like a child anticipating Christmas. (I just placated myself by reading the first five Fire and Ice books again.)

I wish you continued strength and inspiration!
Happy holidays!

For just a moment I, wishfully, thought you were going to come to the country where the bird had got its name.
By the way in Turkish, the same bird's name comes from India and I heard that in Portuguese, its name comes from Peru. I wonder, how come all different nations decided to give a foreign county's name to the same bird. I know, it should have been brought to the countries later but still there are lots of species that are brought from different countries. Well, I talked a lot. Bone appetite Mr. Martin!
And if you don't come to real Turkey I will find a job in the US and haunt you :)

Happy Thanksgiving George and fellow blog lurkers! Or...the day after I guess. I am thankful for stuffing. There is nothing like some mushy salt bread cooked inside a bird, especially with a little celery, onion, ground sausage, and cranberry mixed in.

I have much to be thankful for, despite the everyday headaches that accompany life. I have a beautiful family, a roof over my head and (too much at times) food in the fridge.

And when I need to get away, I'm thankful that there are places like Westeros and Essos for me to visit. Places where I can get lost, at least for a little while...

Happy Thanksgiving all!

New reader.
A friend recommended your books to me and I began reading them. I've really enjoyed them. I read some of your interviews, and I agree that the quality of the books is more important than the speed. I look forward to reading the next book when it comes out, and I'm confident that everyone will, in the end, be glad that you shared your amazing invented world with us in its epic scope, rather than doing things sloppily.

I myself do not write much or often, but I know that authors have personal lives that they're busy living, and muses show up at their own whim. In short, I think you're doing it right. Your current fan base might howl now, but your fans twenty-five years from now will be eternally grateful.

Feel free to delete this comment if I got too personal.
