I have a good friend here who will share your pain - I'm afraid we had a prediction contest - I called the Falcons and he called the Packers - I am sorry I was right on the wrong one for you.

what we can BOTH celebrate in this beautiful game, is Adrian Peterson with 212 yards today - now less than 300 yards away from Eric Dickerson's record, which has stood for 40 years.

In what is now a passing league, this should be one of those records that will stand forever.....

Can't believe your giants got beat up by the falcons. figured the score would be much the opposite. no worries george, i'm sure they'll end up in the superbowl anyway.

I couldn't believe that scoreline. Absolutely brutal AND unexpected.

i watched just enough of the game to say to my mother "I don't care about football, but I'm scared one of my favorite writers will be so upset by this he'll crawl into a hole and stop work on the sixth book..."

The Falcons fielded a better, healthier team and for whatever reason were more focused than the Giants.

My husband and I live in the Atlanta area and were at the game today. Just as they kicked off, I turned to him and said "You know, if we beat the Giants today, we're going to make George R R Martin sad."

So, sorry we made you sad.

While I understand your pain, I'm proud of my Falcons doing what they needed to do: Rise up!

Well, did you see The Hobbit yet?
I am an Eagles fan, so I've been looking for as much escapism from my NFL escapism as possible. I know you liked The Lord of the Rings movies so I was wondering what you thought of the newest addition to that film family. I liked it, though the tone was expectedly lighter.

I know that feeling...
Being a Dolphins fan, it's a feeling I know too well. For those of us no longer looking forward to the big game on 2/3/2013... 3/31/13 can't come soon enough. A real reason to cheer on Sundays.

Sorry George
You could choose to add Seahawks fandom to your Giants and Jets fandom. Then you could say your team had two 50+ point blowouts in the last two weeks. And their record is 9-5. Not bad, right? ;) GO HAWKS!

Hello sir, have you seen 'An Unexpected Journey' yet? If not, I recommend it highly. It was awesome!

Question about A Dance With Dragons
Sorry about your Gmen. I'm curious about one thing unrelated to football (sorry!)--

I saw a mass-market paperback English version of A Dance With Dragons here in Budapest yesterday, yet on Amazon it says that won't come out until next May. Since I already ordered it on Amazon, I don't way to buy it again here (plus it's expensive), but what's the deal? Why do they get the MMP here so early while we have to wait so long?

Hi George,

It's not finnished!
Omg i have just finished reading the books after completly ignoring my life for the last ten days and the story is no where near finished. Please tell me you are close to finishing the next (last?) book. The night is dark and full of terrors and i cant wait to see what happens. Winter is coming!
