I was waiting for this. I can only be partially sympathetic today as I am a Raven's fan.

Sorry about that ;)

This is the saddest LJ post I've seen all day.

Yes, but they're sucking in playoff contention; you still suffer from hope.... unlike us Bills fans, who are rapidly running out of paper bags and are thinking about looking to plastic.

Giants
I know how you feel...I'm down in the dumps too. That was the exact opposite of last year's Giants football; niether effort nor poise.

Hey, you know what would cheer everyone up? How 'bout a TWoW chapter like last year? It was the best present I got!

Nothing warms the winter nights like a new visit to Westeros.

or a sixers fan, or flyers, and the phillies are getting old
With all the teams in NY you probably average a parade three times a decade.

We're lucky if we get one down Broad Street once a quarter century.

Atleast I'm not from Cleveland.

Hey, the Browns are... oh forget it, it's true. We're hopeless. Now I'm just gone a wander away sadly and try not to fumble anything.

But hey, now you get to root for San Fran, Washington, St. Louis, Green Bay AND Detroit! Think of all those teams you can cheer on now as well as the Giants!

Or you can root for New England.

I feel your pain. My team isn't doing so hot, either.

The apocalypse has happened long ago, we are just the less intelligent, more hostile creatures living in its aftermath.

My father just randomly said to me, "The Patriots should sign 'The Mountain' for the playoffs." I said that I was going to tell you this.

take it out on a story in westero's.
Maybe you can mourn their weakness by writing your frustrations in a "Westeros" story?
he he..
much love and sorry for your losses Ser Martin!

Its okay George, look at the bright side: The Playoffs are very close and it's looking very possible we'll have a Brady vs Manning showdown again.

What was that whole magic trick with both Sanchez and Tebow being listed as starting behind McElroy?

When the Dolphins left the field after beating Buffalo, they were still in playoff contention. By the time they'd finished showering, the Bengals win over the Steelers (which only happened due to Roethlisberger's throwing a stupid, unnecessary pass for an INT) meant they were out of it. Ah, well, at least we beat the Bills.

Well George I am a Chicago Cubs fan. I have been all my life. Trust me when I say things could be worse.

Dude your team can't win it all every year. At least the Jets will give you some good drama in the off season.

Hopeless - Jets
I think the GM and head coach make their personnel decisions over a bottle of scotch. All quotes below are should be repeated slightly slurred:

"Hey! that guy can run lets make him our QB"
"Hey! our QB can't play, lets start this new guy, couldn't be worse ... right?"
"Hey, our running-back QB with a winning record, fire his ass!"

tongue-in-cheek

A paucity of Starks.
Uh oh, Sansa, Arya, Bran and Rickon better watch out. George is going to kill another Stark!

Today is a great day to be a Seahawks fan.

I... just... don't... know...
It has taken me 24 hours to process this and be able to talk about it. I have to force myself to look on the bright side. My Giants won twice in four years. Eli Manning is better than this. We had a tough schedule. Ummmm.... the hurricane?

I'm okay now. I'm okay. There's always next year.

Consistency
The Giants are slumping when they are usually streaking. Either way, as usual, consistency is a problem.

My deepest sympathy
Being a New York Giants fan has been hard these past few weeks. Being a New York Giants fan who went to baltimore, sat at the very top, and I do mean very top of the stadium, surrounded by Rabid Ravens fans, includiing my own son was horrible. The worse part? That was my Christmas gift! When I checked out of the hotel the yesterday I told the front desk, who was snickering at me they should comp my room out of a sense of sympathy. It didn't work. Merry Christmas Marcia!!

I read this post and your previous post over on Goodreads and created a Livejournal account solely to thank you. I work with an animal rescue and I've seen dogs who have had their teeth crushed and nails pulled out before they were thrown into a pit as bait for starving fighters. I've seen the fighters themselves, so abused and mistrusting that they try to bite off any hand that goes near them in an attempt to check on the fractures and lacerations. When Michael Vick's dirty little secret came out, we were a few of the many calling for him to be kicked out of the league. It's always heartening to find somebody else who cares about the animals and what their treatment says about Vicks's personality over the talent he shows on the field and what that could mean for the team. How we treat animals and those we have power over shows our true personality. Thank you for realizing that.

Well, Giants have a very slim shot at the wildcard, but that's if the Bears, the Cowboys and the Vikings lose.

So not going to happen.
