Here's hoping all my fans and readers had a terrific Xmas.
Santa was very, very good to me. Books, turtles, jewelry, a coffeemaker (I mainline the stuff), monster movies, a tiny miniature of myself, a Richard Powers original, a dragon for my garden... what more can a boy want? (Aside from his lost youth, and a year's worth of 50 hour days to get more done).

My fiance and I spent the Christmas season reading the Dunk and Egg stories for the first time. These were the only tales of Westeros that we had yet to embark on.
I am thrilled to say that we laughed, we cried, and our dreams were filled with the further adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall and Lil' Eggie.
Thank you for these beautiful stories George. Looking forward to the She-Wolves of Winterfell. =)
Take care,
Bernard and Laura
Sorry, couldn't help it.
Santa brought me "The Lands of Ice & Fire", which I'm super jazzed about. :)
Seriously though- no one else asked... Turtles?? The candy? Shorthand for 'turtleneck'? Actual turtles?

Were those real turtles, some fine miniatures or anything else? Just being currious. A friend of mine got snails as a present once.
Stephan Moffat is the writer and he is really brilliant, being the main writer for the TV series Dr Who and for Sherlock. It would be wonderful if he could write an episode of the Game of Thrones HBO series.
Have a great year - 2013.
I'll reference by saying "Fall is Leaving". It will only be uttered the ONCE in the entire series. It will fit, and not stuck out as a sore thumb. Basically, Ice and fire readers would catch the reference upon reading.
The only thing I didn't get that I wanted was a new sample chapter ;)
Please? Pretty please? Bacon (and Penny and Crunch) please?
Cheers
Kam
I miss new work from Roger - You and He are still My Favs.
I know you and Roger were friends which is why I mentioned it as my Favorite gift this year :-)
Happy Holiday George and Co :-)
