Merry Xmas

Here's hoping all my fans and readers had a terrific Xmas.

Santa was very, very good to me. Books, turtles, jewelry, a coffeemaker (I mainline the stuff), monster movies, a tiny miniature of myself, a Richard Powers original, a dragon for my garden... what more can a boy want? (Aside from his lost youth, and a year's worth of 50 hour days to get more done).

A Dunk and Egg Christmas
Merry Christmas George!

My fiance and I spent the Christmas season reading the Dunk and Egg stories for the first time. These were the only tales of Westeros that we had yet to embark on.

I am thrilled to say that we laughed, we cried, and our dreams were filled with the further adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall and Lil' Eggie.

Thank you for these beautiful stories George. Looking forward to the She-Wolves of Winterfell. =)

Take care,

Bernard and Laura

What more?
Maybe you should have asked for a winning football team?

Sorry, couldn't help it.

Merry Christmas Mr. Martin!

Santa brought me "The Lands of Ice & Fire", which I'm super jazzed about. :)

Seriously though- no one else asked... Turtles?? The candy? Shorthand for 'turtleneck'? Actual turtles?

Merry Xmas to you
I'm a bit belated but I want to give my seasons greetings. Here´s to hoping for a nice fresh copy of The Winds of Winter under the tree in a couple of years.

Monster movies? Would you happen to be a Godzilla fan, George? :)

Merry Xmas
Were those real turtles, some fine miniatures or anything else? Just being currious. A friend of mine got snails as a present once.

"Winter is Coming"
The expression "Winter is Coming" is being used by other writers, I think to honor you (GRRM). I watched the Dr Who Christmas Special and the expression "Winter is Coming" was used twice that I caught. And it had a similar meaning...a mystical cold terror was about to be unleashed onto the world and destroy humankind.

Stephan Moffat is the writer and he is really brilliant, being the main writer for the TV series Dr Who and for Sherlock. It would be wonderful if he could write an episode of the Game of Thrones HBO series.

Have a great year - 2013.

Re: "Winter is Coming"
In my own series, I may 'reference' that phrase - I'm giving GRRma cameo of sorts (a small but important character who will have about half a page total), bearing his likliness and the sigil of a turtle..or possibly owning a turtle.

I'll reference by saying "Fall is Leaving". It will only be uttered the ONCE in the entire series. It will fit, and not stuck out as a sore thumb. Basically, Ice and fire readers would catch the reference upon reading.

You Too!
My people may celebrate Christmas by eating Chinese food and going to the movies, but a merry one to you!
The only thing I didn't get that I wanted was a new sample chapter ;)
Please? Pretty please? Bacon (and Penny and Crunch) please?

Merry Xmas
Merry Xmas to you and yours too Mr., Martin. I've been enjoying your Song of Fire and Ice series on Audio. Well enjoying is an understatement, I am half-way through book 5 and the first four I devoured over last 9 months. I might be developing a psychiatric problem. The last week my mobile device part of my body broke and I couldn't get my DoD dosage; I am having serious withdrawals. For the love of God hurry up with the next book(s)? The crows in dreary Northwest are getting impatient!

Merry Christmas Everyone.
Hey, I got a new flatscreen so I can watch season 3. I'd have traded it for a copy of Winds. I'm also seriously thinking about waiting til after Sunday to set it up though. I don't think those G-men deserve to be viewed on HD after their performances the past couple of weeks. Just to end on a happy note, I'm going to be visiting places resembling wildling territory (except for the lifts and trails). Here's wishing you a happy, safe and productive New Year!!!!

Zelazny's "Threshold" here :-)
Someone collected all Roger's work and created a collection...I had no idea. So wifey got me #1 "Threshold".

I miss new work from Roger - You and He are still My Favs.

I know you and Roger were friends which is why I mentioned it as my Favorite gift this year :-)

Happy Holiday George and Co :-)
