One of the heads of HBO said a year ago that HBO had looked at the Dunk and Egg stories and were interested in anything related to the series, but were not likely to do anything about them for a few years.

I took that to mean they might do something with the short stories further down the line, which could be anything from stand-alone movies to a spin-off TV series featuring Dunk and Egg in a new adventure every week (purely my supposition).

A question I've meant to ask you before George: does HBO actually have the rights to Dunk and Egg as well as the rest of ASoIaF, or would that have to be a separate deal?
