NFL Draft, Day 3

The Giants draft is looking very strong. No spectacular moves, but solid players who will make solid contributions. Grabbing Nassib in round four to back up Eli and groom as his successor was a great move.

The Jets draft... two defensive players in round one look okay, but considering how high they were taken, you had to hope for more. Neither one looks like a game-changer. And taking Geno Smith will set back the club years. Sanchez is likely to be released now, which means we are starting all over, and with a much iffier prospect than Mark was when he was first drafted,

Until the Jets get some help at WR and TE it really wont matter what QB they have in. Their complete lack of talent at the WR position is the real issue in my opinion.

Braylon Edwards has some talent, though he is very inconsistent. And Santonio Holmes is very good, but it remains to be seen how well he will come back from his injury. TE is a bigger issue. The loss of Dustin Keller was devatating. He was Sanchez's favorite target.

I don't feel as badly today as my knee jerk reaction to them signing Tebow, keeping Rex after firing Tannenbaum, trading Revis and drafting Geno.

Things are looking up. Tebow is gone. Or, is this a knee jerk reaction too?

I watched a handful of jets games last year and it seemed like the receivers were always wearing defenders like coats. I rarely saw anybody get any seperation for Sanchez to throw them the ball. Holmes is good, but he seems to be on the downward spiral even before the injury. Edwards had a great year a while back but has only shown rare flashes sense. For Sanchez, I kind of hope they cut him so he can go somewhere else and get a fresh start.
