The Princess and the Queen

The final story in DANGEROUS WOMEN will be my own, a 30,000 word novella entitled "The Princess and the Queen," a history (somewhat abridged) of the Dance of the Dragons, as set down by a maester of the Citadel.

Tor.com has  uploaded a sample to their site.  You can find it here:

Enjoy.

(The full 80,000 word account of the Dance will eventually appear in a book, as yet untitled, that we're calling the GRRMarillion).

Viserys and Jaehaerys...
... are still grandfather and grandson, are they not?

The excerpt called Jaehaerys I Viserys' father during the section detailing the length of the term of office of Lord Beesbury.

I guess that's a mistake, isn't it? I just thought I should mention it so that it can be corrected for the publication.

We don't want to lose the mystery Targaryen generation, won't we ;-).

And the tease of the story really made us all very interested in this GRRMarillion stuff. Hopefully you can publish some of it before the series is complete. This whle back-and-forth-hint-thing between former eras and the main series is interesting, especially with another Dance of the Dragons on the horizon!
