Skins for Capclave

October is going to be an absolutely insane month for me.  I have so many things coming out, even I can't keep track of them all.

But I've just gotten the green light to announce one of the coolest.

Those of you who check out my Appearances list regularly know that I'll flying to Washington DC in a few weeks, to be Guest of Honor at Capclave.  Well, as it happens, WSFA Press likes to release a "Capclave book" every year, to honor the con's GOH.

This year, that book will be a new collector's edition of my novella "The Skin Trade" (a World Fantasy Award winner, donchaknow), illustrated by the amazing award-winning artist RICK BERRY.  You can check out the details here:

CapClave attendees will get first crack at this book, after which unsold copies will be offered to the general public.  This illustrated SKIN TRADE will be limited to 1000 copies -- 500 signed by me and Rick, and 500 unsigned.  (Must remember to bring my pen to Washington).

So add THE SKIN TRADE to the list of stuff I have coming out next month, along with OLD MARS, MEATHOUSE MAN, THE DANCE WITH DRAGONS paperbacks, and THE WIT AND WISDOM OF TYRION LANNISTER.

Happy B-day!
Now that that's out, I feel like I should say something witty with references to your works. Something about the love we both share for those Grey Havens and the respect I have for you and something-something. I really don't know how to condense the knott of thoughts and emotions that springs up when I think about you, or more exactly about the image I have of you. I just want to say, reading you, I've had one of those awkward moments when you see a particular view on things or a way of thinking that you've thought was unique to you, expressed by somebody else who might be of a totally diffrent age, culture, etc basically from another "world".
Thank you for existing, George. Thank you for walking both worlds and bringing a bit of each into the other, changing the web of collective thoughts.

Regarding the Skin trade
I don't know if its common affliction, but I was a wreck when I learned there was no sequel following the Skin Trade.. Just wanted to say thank you for releasing that in Dream songs volume 2. Anyone who comes across this comment, read the story. Skin Trade is just as hard to put down as Tuf voyaging or fever dream.

Happy Birthday a few days late! I'm slowly making my way through your books. I was born and raised in St. Louis, so "Fevre Dream" is my favorite (excluding any from A Song of Ice and Fire), but I look forward to reading "The Skin Trade" as soon as I can get my hands on it! Thank you for the wonderful stories. I can hardly wait to visit Westeros again in "The Winds of Winter".

Tyrion and Daenerys
Hi George,

I am a Brazilian fan, I know you have a special affection for our country.

I would just make a question, which incidentally is killing me: when Tyron will meet with Daenerys?

Thanks for your work.

Re: Capclave 2013 in Washington, DC

I'll be attending Capclave this weekend and I can barely contain my excitement! Since I have such great respect of your literary abilities, I would like to buy you a drink sometime this weekend at the convention. (Obviously not during one of your events!) May I have the pleasure of doing so?
