0-5

sad sack
Life is miserable and full of pain.

Who are these clowns in the New York Giants uniforms and what have they done with the real Eli Manning?

A few more weeks, and I'll be wondering who's likely to be available in next year's draft.

I'm sorry. I like the Giants too. And my Lions lost this week to Green Bay. I'm also a Steelers fan, and they're 0-4 because they had a bye this week. My best friend (who is from Pittsburgh) doesn't know what happened to her team either =(. This has been a very interesting season thus far!

It's hard to be a fan during the hard times (for both college and NFL football), and each team has its ups and downs. I'm a New Orleans native so I'm very happy that the Saints are 5-0. I'm ecstatic that we're #1 in the NFC right now, and I'd love for the Saints to (once again) beat Peyton Manning in the Superbowl like we did in 2010.

Bucs Fan here
I feel your pain. I've about given up on football since hockey has started. At least the Giants still have a quarterback.

Maybe time to switch sports? I hear unicycle polo is quite nice...or maybe chess boxing? :)

If there's a silver lining, it's that the Cowpies lost, as well as Evil Little Bill's Boston Cheaters.

Draft picks are the only thing I'm looking forward to when it comes to the G-men. Time to rebuild--including the coaching staff and GM.

And cheerleaders. Many cheerleaders.

Pity the poor New York Signal caller. The Giants have burned me thrice in my pick 'em pool. I keep laying heavy on Big Blue because they are due and I'm not ready to give up on them until the bank repos the grocery wagon. The Jets, on the other hand, are keeping me in the hunt. Which reminds me, I need to call my guy for a change order on Monday night's game to make up for today.

Eagles fan here... sorry, but I do live in Philly, and if I support any other team I'd probably get pummeled or vomited on - our sports fans here are uncivilized barbarians.

Anyway, it was a good game, sir, and very close for a while. You still have your Jets, 2-2, and I wouldn't be surprised if they beat Atlanta tomorrow.

I didn't see that whole game, but what I saw was pretty ugly.

Oh yeah, and while Eli keeps throwing INTs, he's still not Matt Schaub, who just set the record for consecutive games throwing pick-sixes.

You have my condolences. I know there's been a lot of talk about "You can't spell 'elite' without Eli" in the last couple years, but ...

I'm pretty sure I know which of the modern Manning brothers is one of the best NFL QBs ever, and it ain't Eli - current "ring count" be damned. In my observation, Eli Manning is a streaky QB - not nearly as consistent as Peyton or Aaron Rodgers, and more like (gulp) Tony Romo. (Please don't hit me.) When he's on, he plays really really well - when he's off, he's horrendous.

Right now, he's really really off. :-(

I'd be sympathetic as I know what it's like to love a losing team...but the Saints are 5-0 baby! Who Dat!

My heart bleeds for you poor Giants fans.

I live in Jacksonville and would be thrilled to have an 0 and 5 team that was in any way COMPETITIVE!

I live in Jax too neil 54.

When Big Ben said the Steelers were the worst team in football I laughed harshly. Everyone knows who the worst team is. (But like a true fan I have hopes for future seasons!)

They are so sluggish this year. My favorite team has and always will be Carolina, and lets face it they are far from a solid team. Yet somehow they man handled the Giants in an embarrassing way. I'm not sure whats in their water but they need to switch to something else.

Bad weekend for you all around - really thought Northwestern was going to pull out the upset of Ohio State there at the end too.

I feel your pain - Dolphins have no pass protection whatsoever this year: poor Tannehill has been sacked 24 times, most in the NFL *sigh*

Might as well say 0-6. As far as Eli he's the same guy who makes those miraculous passes. Live by the sword die by the ineffective offensive line, tight end and running back play. The Giants are in sore need of guys who are complete players in those positions.

The coaching staff is showing serious issues. That cockup with the timeout/challenge was glaring proof. I also remember that the coaching staff initially wanted to cut Cruz. I hope Jerry doesn't trade any more draft picks for maybes and nobodies. This may be the season of wholesale changes. I can live with this and next season being rebuilding years.

All said, here's hoping for a miraculous recovery. Cheers.

I feel for you. However, it is during these times that the loyalty of the true fan is tested...it was only two years ago that my Colts went 2-14. There is always next season!

Hey, you guys looked fine for the first quarter or so. And then for some reason your D decided that actually they couldn't deal with the Chip Kelly offense after all.

At least you have the unique ability to pull for 2 NFL teams :)

I'm a Bears fan, also a little down after going to yesterday's game. At least one of us will get a Thursday night buoy

It's not that great of an ability, the other one is the Jets.........

Edit - just want to say that the Jets are shuting my mouth with an awesome game vs the Falcons.

Not out of it yet
Although 0-5 is an admittedly lousy start, the G-men are still only two games out of first place in the woeful NFC East. If they get hot and roll off five or six wins in a row, I bet they'd be in a position to still make the playoffs. And considering how uninspiring they looked until the end of the regular season when they last won a Super Bowl, I don't think you can count them out just yet. They got hot at the right time then and rode it all the way to a SB win.

Of course, I'm a Chargers fan, and I've gotten used to convincing myself that there's still a chance for the past 25 years.

i think that the coordinators (both offensive and defensive) need to go. and while they won't get rid of eli, i think it should at least be a conversation. he's been playing almost a decade and shouldn't be making such reckless throws.

hopefully, the brunt of this season will not fall on tom coughlin, he's a great coach, but he needs to help steer the conversation with management towards ditching gilbride and fewell.

Hang in there,
It doesn't help that the Giants are having so many injury issues.

At least your Jets won tonight against the Falcons.

I do have to mention one funny thing I discovered. My girlfriend is a Redskins fan, and when her team won last week she posted "HTTR" on her Facebook page. One of our mutual friends asked if the H was for "Hodor". It didn't take long for me to realize that you can replace all of the lyrics to "Hail to the Redskins" with nothing but "Hodor", and it still tracks!

My girlfriend is still cringing.

Draft
The Giants could use JaDeveon Clowney on their defense, he'd be a big difference maker.
