Warning: contains risqué anecdotes and off-color stories that may offend some.

I should also mention that I had a senior moment during the panel, when I mentioned that I won my first Hugo in 1985 and appeared on my first panel in 1986.  While the relation between those two events is correct, the dates aren't.  I misplaced a decade there.  I actually won my first Hugo in 1975, and appeared on my first panel later that same year (at the same con where the trophy was presented to me).

"The air was filled with quarters!"LMFAO That is classic.
I attended a San Diego comicon in 1988 just after I had gotten out of the service. I think the big deal that year was Ghostbusters along with a sea of comic books. On the schedule, was a tribute to Robert Heinlein, which got me very excited as I was (and still am) a big fan of the Dean. Then I get to the panel only to find out it was a MEMORIAL tribute! Apparently the man had died! I sat there bummed for the whole panel.
Later I was cheered up by purchasing X-men 101 which is the emergence of Phoenix. I saw alot of comics there I wanted but didn't have the money at the time. Of course, SDCC has gotten huge over time, but I wanted to share that Woody Allen-esque experience with you. Loved this video! Hope to see you at a Comicon soon! :-)
