Coming...

... to the Jean Cocteau.

Opening this Friday, July 24, we have PIXELS, for all of you who remember the videogames of your youth.

Adam Sandler. Peter Dinklage. PacMan. Looks like a hoot and a half.

See you at the movies.

This indeed looks like a fun movie.

A question completely irrelevant from your post; have you read or plan to read 'The Grace of Kings' which came out a few months ago? It has quite a bit of hype around it and is apparently a great read for fantasy lovers. Asking completely out of curiosity.

Thanks.

I have huge stacks of books everywhere I turn... my office, my bedroom, the television room... and though I read all the time, they arrive faster than I can read them. I don't necessarily "plan" my reading in advance. I just grab what looks interesting and hope it hooks me.

Right now I am reading a book of sea stories by William Hope Hodgson, and trying to read the rest of the Hugo nominees. The latter is somewhat of a chore, the former a pleasure.

Ahhhhh got me! I saw "Coming..." and thought it had something to do with winter and its winds :)

Aside, the trailer looks great. Would be fun to go to the Cocteau if I were on that side of the world

Adam Sandler. Why'd it have to be Adam Sandler?

At least it's not Will Ferrell, I suppose...

Ferrell and Sandler.
I used to hate Ferrell as an actor in his Austin Powers and Saturday Night Live days, but now I love him, which is funny because I feel exactly the opposite about Adam Sandler.

Adam Sandler is terrible. Far worse than Will Farrell. Will Farrell and Peter Dinklage were in Elf together, and that's a decent Christmas movie!

I am hoping this movie turns out to be at least halfway decent. I am really, really hoping.

Its an interesting concept that in better hands could be great.

At least Sandler didn't write the script.

Can't tell if those are the bees and stuff from Galaga that I'm seeing or not. Sigh. That was my game back in the day. Every spare quarter was used in the arcade. Until I started dating. Girls beat video games, man.

I'm really looking forward to this movie. There have been some stinkers lately (terminator and jurassic world), but I have faith in this one. Looks super funny. I also can't wait for "Vacation".

Breaks my heart that I'll probably never get to visit the Cocteau. It's really too bad Santa Fe is so out of the way from everywhere I go.

That was fun!!
Liked the Atari building that is seen for an instant.

(Like others, the fact that Adam Sandler is in the movie is a large negative for me. This added a big positive.)

Crossing my fingers on this one. Often it can be best to judge a movie by the kids laughter next to you. Some of the 90's classics are still classic and timeless but there hasn't been too many like them since. I find that many folks these days get their hearts ramped up and have a big let down out of nothing. Keep an open, un-prejudgmental view and let yourself laugh. It it ends up being complete shite, you will know.
