EXPANSE Debut

Just a reminder... THE EXPANSE premieres tonight on the SyFy channel.

For those who came in late, this is the big new space series based on a terrific series of novels by James S.A. Corey, who is really my friends Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck in disguise.

I've seen the first two episodes, and they're terrific.

But don't take my word for it.

If you like episode one tonight, you won't have to wait long for episode two. SyFy plans to broadcast that one tomorrow night. Then you'll be all caught up on what the fans at the Jean Cocteau Cinema saw December 3 at the Official Red Carpet Premiere (how could you miss it?)

Pinto Vortando says, "This is a very brave show. Pinto will be watching, and you should too."

P.S> If you like the show, you will like the novels even better. And you can order signed copies of all five from the Jean Cocteau at http://www.jeancocteaubooks.com/

trailer not available in my country
...hate it when they do that. Then they wonder why piracy is a thing.

Best show I've seen on SyFy since Caprica.

Not available in my country... I've seen some trailers though, and I'm definitely going to watch it.
I haven't enjoyed a good space series since the reboot of Battlestar Galactica!

Cord cutter
As a cord cutter, I like when a show is released online at the same time it airs. They have put the first episode on Google Play and iTunes for free. I will check it out tonight and see if I want to invest in the whole season.

Not available in the UK, sadly (not even the trailer) but I'll watch out for it later.

I actually just finished a series (Stephen King's Dark Tower) so I'm looking for the next one. I think I'll take your recommendation and read The Expanse.

I may hold off on watching the show until I finish reading it. I don't really watch a lot of shows but all I'm hearing is that this is fantastic. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Looks good.
Thought it was pretty good premiere. We were introduced to the 3 main factions, protagonists, antagonists, restless populace on Ceres and a mystery. Not to mention a bit of backstory to the current political situation. I have high hopes for The Expanse to replace Defance as the best show on SyFy.

So I have to buy the books.

The Expanse is a winner
I seen the first two episodes already and I think that SyFy finally have a winner on their hands.

Also, I love the novels!!! I have read several of the connecting novelas and am currently in the midst of reading the second novel "Caliban's War", by way "Leviathan Wakes" was awesome!!!

Highly recommend both the TV show and the novels which make up "The Expanse"! Thanks James S. A. Correy aka Daniel Abraham and Ty Franks...

Now if you will excuse me..."There has been an awakening...". Maybe Force be with you all!

F&"£($ Syfy. Another show I can't watch, because... well, no reason, really. Even though Syfy has a European channel, "can't be played in your country." Same with the Wil Wheaton Project, not shown in Europe.

Ah well. To PirateBay!

Am I hallucinating?
Hey there George, huge fan with a quick question. I've written over 100,000 words about your books. I think I am seeing that you've hidden the cause of the Long Night - some kind of comet/moon impact which rained down black meteors on "Planetos" - inside of the folklore of the book, and then again in the symbolism of highly metaphorical scenes in the book. Am I hallucinating? Sea Dragon, Storm God thunderbolt, Hammer of the Waters - these are moon meteor impacts, right? Of course you don't want to confirm spoiler things, but can you at least tell me if I am completely off my rocker, if I'm suffering from advanced case of apophenia? A simple "you might be on to something" would be sweet, if you can spare it.

P.S. If I am right in my general thinking, you're knowledge of mythology and use of symbolism in regards to mythology is absolutely incredible, and I thank you for you taking the time to write in the manner you do. It's enriched my life tremendously to follow all the trails, I've learned so much about symbolism and mythology in the process, things I was already in to.

Re: Am I hallucinating?
You should discuss theories like this with your fellow readers on boards like Westeros and Tower of the Hand.

I appreciate your thoughts, but I don't get into such discussions.

And I prefer blog comments to stay on topic. In this case, the topic is the Expanse TV show, not my books.

Thank you for understanding.

Very well done
I'm four episodes in and so far its brilliant. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they play it our in the season finale. If SyFy learned anything from BSG, they'll let this show stick around for at least three season.
