I Hate Football

Nothing like starting off a new year with two agonizing fourth quarter losses.

Giants lost to the Eagles. It might have been Tom Coughlin's last game as coach. I really thought the G-Men would rise up and win one for Tom, but noooooo. If TC does go, I hope the new coach makes it a priority to get a defense. For a franchise that has built its storied rep on D, having the worst defense in the NFL is a disgrace.

And the Jets, well, all they had to do was beat the Bills to get into the playoffs. But of course they lost too, also in devastating fashion, so now they are out. It was a better season that anyone could have expected under our new GM and new coach, but of course when the game REALLY REALLY COUNTED, the Jets came up short, the way they always do.

Pfui.

Yes, I know, the playoffs are coming... but with both my teams out, my interest is minimal. I want the Pats to lose, of course. Elsewise I don't much care.

Time to start looking forward to the NFL Draft.

Oof, fourth quarter losses are the worst. Luckily my team (Seahawks) are currently destroying Arizona...

I agree with you about the Pats though. They can lose.

That was brutal. I was sincerely worried about the Cardinals, but wow did the Hawks bring the A game today or what?

I liked how the announcers started talking about the playoff rankings 'now that the Seahawks have won' like three minutes into the third quarter. They normally won't say that even in massive blowouts until late in the 4th, even when it's obvious, just to keep playing along with the idea of the Miracle Comeback.

Not this time. Not today.

At least you tend to know in the first 10 minutes which Seahawk team showed up today. XD

Jets Future
Don't fret George; Jets future is quite bright. Todd Bowles is maybe the best young coach in the league & the jets are loaded with defensive line & WR talent; just need to upgrade Fitzpatrick & you're looking at one of the best teams in football.

All I care about is the Patriots losing too.

2015 NFL season
As a fan of the 2015 Philadelphia Eagles I feel your pain. I too wanted a Giants win so the Eagles could get a better draft pick. But, no the Eagles can never seem to do anything right even losing.

Fantasy Draft for the Jets/Giants
Say you were the GM of the Jets or Giants, what college prospects should they be looking at for the 2016 Draft?

Re: Fantasy Draft for the Jets/Giants
I would make a very bad GM. I don't follow college football, so I have very little idea who is good.

Maybe I'd go after that Stanford running back. He looked great in the Rose Bowl. And I like a strong run game.

The Giants need defense, though. Who is the best pass rusher coming out this year? That's who I want.

As a Raiders fan I know how you feel.... Jets should be good next year, the Giants have all the tools on offense....

Time for me to obsess over the draft for the next four months.

Sorry you had such a disappointing end to the season. Glad we could (surprisingly!) contribute to the Pats losing for you :->

I want Peyton to win another ring before he retires. Would be perfect way to end a great career.

I'm curious to see if the Giants draft a QB because Eli is getting up there as well. Baseball is always something to look forward to though.

Eli has years and years left. He's way younger than say, Tom Brady, and Brady does not seem to be slowing down/

The Football gods are fickle.
Really thought the Jets would win that one.

If my Chiefs meet New England in the playoffs hopefully we'll make your wish come true!

You want the Pats to lose, eh?
Don't say such blasphemy here in New England, George. It doesn't matter how famous you are :P

You guys are greedy. You've won enough. Too much, actually.

Bright side
At least you're not a long suffering Browns fan, firing your 3rd HC/GM combo in 4 years or so... Maybe it's the 4th combo, I lost count... Now the real season begins in Cleveland... So there's that!

Sorry, but I currently have the opposite feelings from the result of the Jets game, as I'm a huge Steelers fan. Hopefully the Steelers can face and beat the Patriots in the playoffs.

You poor summer child....
As a Browns fan, I laugh at your pain.
Who would you like to see the Giants hire to replace Coughlin?

(Make it to philly, I'll buy you a beer to celebrate when the Pats get knocked out.)

So close too
The final drive it looked like they were gonna pull off a miracle until the safety tapped it out of his hands. I was really hoping they'd make it in and boot Pittsburgh out. At least you can say the future is bright for both NY teams. Getting Cruz and their best lineman back has to help the Giants.
