They will be filming the pilot episode of A GAME OF THRONES.
It's just the pilot so far. They'll need to see that before they decide whether to proceed with a full season's episodes. So let's all hope the pilot will kick serious ass.
It should. David Benioff and Dan Weiss did a terrific job with the script. And yes, all of you can relax, it's very faithful. Dan and David will be the executive producers for the pilot and (we hope) the eventual series.
More details when I have 'em. The news is very fresh. HBO just issued their own press release, which should be up on their website soon, if it's not there already.

Are they still going to keep children characters as children? Like Dani, Sansa, Joffery, Rob and Jon? I am so worried they will change their ages and cast actos too old for them. I honestly think their youth is very important to those characters and the storyline as a whole. I would hate to see them change such integral elements.
If they do end up making it, I'll have to get HBO (or do we already have it? I don't even know, since I never watch TV). But I would love to see ASOIAF as a TV series.

My Obama wish-list for the media (I'm serious):
We need something promised during the Clinton years but never delivered (even though the phone companies raised their rates to accomplish it): fiber optic broadband connection to phones and internet. Since the phone and cable companies didn't do it then even though they had promised to, we need something affordable now, and accountability to make sure it happens. Some towns have done it themselves, but not the larger cities. Let's remind Obama that one of his promises was more media companies, internet access, etc. Let's see if some sort of plan is actually implemented. I do buy cable, but it costs a fortune. I'd rather a reasonable price, and then be able to pay for a few more channels such as HBO.
Also, I just put the news on three different sites. I feel so proud, in a geeky way. :)
