...for my part, an update every six months or so is all I was looking for. I understand your frustrations, but understand that the public has a right to expect things to be delivered when they're told they're going to be delivered. As you said, three dates have come and gone and only the first time with the humility present one would expect from someone who gave unrealistic expectations to their readership.

I don't expect you to drop your life. I don't expect you to give up urination. I'm aware that you're working as fast as you believe you can. But don't act like we're idiots for being disappointed and a little frustrated that we hear so little about the book's progress and that when we do hear something, it's rarely "progress". I also understand that an easy way to avoid this is to avoid saying anything at all, but that's just increasing our frustration and disappointment. Every few months, just let us know you're struggling. Give us unimportant details. And damnit, George, be thankful for us. Stop treating us like a curse.
