I've read a lot of fantasy that had amazing writing, but just okay stories. I've also read a lot of fantasy with amazing stories, but terrible writing.

"A Song of Ice and Fire," was the first time I ever felt that an author had nailed both. I feel that this series has given a new kind of credibility to the genre. It is nice to read an author and think, "Wow, I am not mentally capable of writing a sentence like that."

It may be coincidence, but since the series, it seems that I've seen better and better quality in the fantasy niche. It's amusing that people view getting a new book as their right. Do what you've gotta do... the wait will be worth it.

By the way, even though the Giants got Eli and a Superbowl, as a Charger fan, I still think we came out better getting Rivers and Merriman in that deal. If you lose Plax, maybe you need to consider T.O. to be that down-field threat...hahahahahahahahaha!
