Tax Time

It's that time of year again, and Ty and I have spent two days pulling together all my tax records for my accountant.

Help, help, I'm drowning in little bits of paper!!!

How I hate this time of year.

(It's snowing, too).

Let me tell you how it will be..
there's 1 for you, 19 for me..
cuz i'm the taxman
yeahhhh, i'm the taxman..

I sympathize. I really dread doing my taxes every year.

Look on the bright side: if anyone's still pestering you to work on Dance (and I'm sure they are), just redirect them to the IRS for wasting two days of your valuable time. It's the magical joy of scapegoating!

My 1 year old would know what to do with all those little bits of paper. :)

Don't worry, um... Summer is Coming? Good luck! :-) Hopefully it will all go really quickly. :)

I feel your pain. I just got a letter from the state telling me I forgot to sign my return. Whoops.

I *kinda* feel your pain good sir. Being the small time New Mexican I am, I rarely have a very complex tax form to fill out. Still, it can be a bother from time to time.
*note to infinite hiatus*
Sorry about the mistaken reply to your post, meant it as a new reply.

I'm doing a list minute collection of snowflakes - I mean paper - as well.

Erg. Silly taxes.

This is why I put everything -- and I do mean everything -- business related on my Amex. It gives me a year-end statement I can give to my accountant and say "here, you deal with this."

My advice - have babies so you can deduct them from your taxes. :D

Me hates it too!
Creatives were never meant to figure out taxes. It has always stressed me out too. We have a creative business and it makes us crazy.

Welcome to the club. Everyone hates this time of year...
Mar. 27th, 2009 09:12 pm (UTC)
It could be worse. You could have Passover cleaning too.
Mar. 27th, 2009 09:34 pm (UTC)
Ah, the benefits of owning no home, no land, and having no deductions other than a student loan... my taxes took me less than 10 minutes to complete, no accountant required. :O) Hope your stress is over soon.
Mar. 27th, 2009 09:46 pm (UTC)
I hate this time of year with a firey passion...
That is all.
Mar. 27th, 2009 09:48 pm (UTC)
Ah feel your pain.

We just got our first summary back from our accountants and after recovering from the shock will be going through our records again all weekend.

Good Luck and stay off the ice!

I had to do my mother's taxes. it took me 36 hours to sort through her paperwork... which she keeps in a laundry basket.
I sure hope you don't 'file' your paper that way^^

good luck in getting things done anyway
Mar. 27th, 2009 10:30 pm (UTC)
god i hate taxes. actually, as a good card-carrying liberal i honestly don't hate taxes themselves. i just can't stand putting together tax returns.

Mar. 27th, 2009 10:53 pm (UTC)
Now, now, it'll be all over soon enough.
Mar. 27th, 2009 11:07 pm (UTC)
Go and hug your accountant!
Mar. 28th, 2009 12:00 am (UTC)
Since I just opened a business and now have to file a Schedule C, this is the first time ever I'm considering paying for the services of an accountant.

It also might be the first year I file on time. :P

I so hate pieces of paper from "They Who Rob You" many sympathies.
Mar. 28th, 2009 01:18 am (UTC)
PS its lovely and warm here ;-)
Mar. 28th, 2009 03:06 am (UTC)
I haven't started, but I have a large stack of papers awaiting my attention. I despise fidgety bits of paper. I must force myself to get my paperwork together this weekend.

Counting beans isn't fun, but be thankful you have lots of them to count...
Mar. 28th, 2009 06:54 am (UTC)
I make my husband deal with the taxes... bwah hahaha! ;)
That aside, I'm going to miss snow dearly as I am no longer
amongst my Yankee brethren. :(
Mar. 28th, 2009 09:01 am (UTC)
Me too! No snow though, only Sun.
Mar. 28th, 2009 02:46 pm (UTC)
It's even worse for all the accountants, who have to process all your little pieces of paper. I'm just the admin assistant, so I don't have to take care of the actual return, but I do have to do everything else, for literally hundreds of people, and I am not a fan of this time of year.
Mar. 28th, 2009 02:57 pm (UTC)
Well, here in Europe some countries (like the one in which I live) have taxes at 35-43%... I hope this will help increasing your mood there in the US ;)

Snow is nice, isn't it? :)
Mar. 28th, 2009 03:24 pm (UTC)
It's cause you're making too much money, dude!
We should all have that problem. But seriously, you make your money the old-fashioned way, so congrats to you.
