Well, the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER has spoiled part of my fun. How can I properly torment my readers if they're going to go around printing the news?

Yes, it's true. Jennifer Ehle has been cast as Catelyn Stark.



Most of you will know her best from her portrayal of Elizabeth Bennet in the BBC's miniseries of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE in 1995, but she's got all sorts of other credits, she's won a BAFTA Award and two Tonys, and she will be a wonderful Catelyn.



Fortunately, even HOLLYWOOD REPORTER doesn't know all the cool stuff I know, so I will still be able to smile engimatically and drop sly hints in Montreal.

Excellent casting again! My daughter is named after Catelyn Stark (mostly because my husband wouldn't agree to Arya!), so I'm glad they picked a great actress for her :)

Haha, I named one of my cats Arya. I wanted to name her brother Tyrion, but he's such an idiot that it would have been an insult to the real Tyrion.

She's lovely! And I'm sure she will make a great Catelyn. I was tempted to suggest Christopher Barry from "Lunatics: a Love Story" as a random red-headed Tully extra. But it's probably too late to put in suggestions. >-> Still, I'm excited about the casting so far!

I've gotten HBO for the past year just to be sure I didn't miss when it finally came together and got released! I'm SOOOOO looking forward to this series getting put onto television! I've been starving for good fantasy movies/shows for many, many years. Thanks so much for ALL of your effort!!

I have not heard of her, but she definitely looks the part. And if she's won a BAFTA then, she's obviously talented. I love that it is being filmed in the UK with UK talent. It fits the tone of your novels better.

Now if we can just get Angelina Jolie to play Cersei. (I'll make an exception to the UK thing for her.)

HBO Casting
Up to now, I am truly amazed. The casting is GREAT, with Ned Stark being of course the best of all and Jon Snow a close second (unknown he may be, but Harington looks exactly the way I pictured Jon in my mind). Now I see that HBO have picked a very good Catelyn. My only doubts is about "your" Joffrey. I saw a pic in the internet, and Jack Gleeson seems too sweet and too young for the part. Oh well, maybe it's an old pic. In any case, congrats!!!
