I hear writing helps get your mind off of the terrible losses!

Kidding, kidding! Have a cup of hot cocoa and a nice lemoncake, and the world will be well once again. ;)

I'd go for the Johnnie Walker Gold and Vermont Cheddar. But, that's just me.

Very bad day all around; the G-Men ruined my day

The New Orleans offense is an utter beast.

They really are. It's almost disturbing how productive they are - and with the NO secondary actually playing football again, they're a tough, tough team to beat.

Same thing with me, only in baseball, where I'm a fan of the SF Giants and the Oakland A's. Worse in baseball because they play 162 games and, more than likely, one or the other will lose on any given day...especially in the last few years.

Hopefully, this is just a blip on the way to a Jets-Giants Super Bowl eh? :-)

It's okay to like both the Giants and the A's?

In NY, you'd get killed if you liked the Yankees and the Mets. Killed.

Yeah, it was ugly.

The Giants are a good team who had a bad day on a day that New Orleans had a great day.

Now, just go beat the Falcons for us.....

I'd rather be the Giants and get blown out by the Saints than be the Eagles and lose a close one to the lowly Raiders! That and the fact that the Redskins lost this weekend were my silver linings for this weekend. The Giants remain in the driver's seat for the NFC East. The season is young and this team will get healthier and improve. I'm not worried. 5-1 is a good start.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with this comment.

I'm an Eagles fan, and I think I speak for the whole city when I say that we've pretty much given up on football this season. It just ain't gonna happen, especially if we can lose to the Raiders of all people. Humiliating. Luckily for our pride, we still have baseball :D
Oct. 20th, 2009 05:31 pm (UTC)
Yes, yes it is.

At least your teams didn't lose to the Raiders... *sigh*

i know how you feel. i just had a few days for it to wear off. i like college football and arkansas got screwed out of beating the number one team in the nation. i wanted to die after that game. well at least alabama won.

does anyone here ever watch college football?

Re: footballl
Arkansas actually screwed themselves out of winning over Florida. I watched the whole game...it was theirs to win. They blew it for a multitude of reasons.

Bama and Texas scraped out wins too...watched those games as well. The difference was Bama and Texas actually won those games on their own play. Florida really won their game on costly mistakes by Arkansas.

To add injury to insult, Jenkins is gone for the year. ;_;

Aww that sad little baby face
Oct. 20th, 2009 05:51 pm (UTC)
There is a bright side: Thomas Jones. That man was on fire. It was a loss, but if he can keep that up, it'll be very good for the Jets.
Oct. 20th, 2009 05:51 pm (UTC)
Kris Jenkins is the worst news, IMO. I foresee a marked weakening of the Jets defense, and its too damn bad.
Oct. 20th, 2009 07:03 pm (UTC)
well, I never expected that result with the giants, I have to say.

Sorry about the Jets.Ugh.

My house wasn't very pleasant when the Eagles lost and then I heard the Giants didn't do well and I thought "oh George isn't going to be happy when he catches up on his tivo".

All the Wild Cards books under Tor have had absolutely stellar covers. I'd frame them and hang them on my wall if I could.

Are all these examples digital artwork? It doesn't look like traditional oil on canvas. I miss the fantasy/sci-fi covers of the '70s and '80s. Even the paperbacks had amazing covers.

Whatever anyone can get their hands on is, I suspect, the right answer.

Any chance you could tell us who’s doing the cover art for Fire and Blood? And maybe when we can expect a glimpse of it. Thank you!
