Just A Reminder...

... for all you New Mexicans, and anyone passing through.

Tomorrow (that is, Saturday, February 20) is the SUICIDE KINGS signing at Barnes & Noble in Albuquerque. It's at the Coronado Center B&N, starting at 1:30 pm, and lasting... well, until we've scrawled in all the books you have for us.

In attendance, besides myself, will be SUICIDE KINGS contributors Melinda (Double Helix) Snodgrass, Victor (Radical) Milan, Daniel (Bugsy) Abraham, Ian (Rustbelt) Tregillis, and Caroline (Bubbles) Spector. (The elusive S.L. Farrell will miss this one too. He's a hard man to pin down).

Also on hand, all the way from Colorado, will be wild carder Carrie Vaughn, who will be signing copies of her new Kitty Norville novel, KITTY'S HOUSE OF HORRORS.

Carrie will be glad to sign her stories in INSIDE STRAIGHT and BUSTED FLUSH too, as will John Jos. (Carnifex) Miller, also expected to be on hand. And for Wild Card completists, there's a chance we might also glimpse Gail (Peregrine) Gerstner Miller, Laura (Lamia) Mixon, and maybe even Ty (Tinkerbill) Franck.

So be there or be square.

Have you ever done or do you plan to do any signings/appearances in NY?

George has done several signings in NYC and surrounding areas. I expect that he will continue to do so in the future. Just check his website for upcoming appearances.

When are you going to slide a little east and visit Texas?

Yes, when?

Why dost thou forsake us?
George, do you hate Texas? How come you never come here? I would love to see in you in person.

Re: Why dost thou forsake us?
It's really up to my publisher where I go for signings, not me. They design these tours.

That being said, when A GAME OF THRONES came out in 1996, stops in Houston, Austin, and Dallas were included on the tour. The Austin signing had a mediocre turnout, but at Houston and Dallas, the attendance was abysmal. On that particular tour, only St. Louis was worse (and St. Louis was another story, one I have told many times).

I have not been sent to Texas since. There only so much time, and usually many cities requesting appearances, so when I go somewhere and the turnout is underwhelming, my publisher tends to scratch that city off the list and try somewhere else next time.

Not fair, maybe, but that's the way it works.

FWIW, there are many cities and states where I've NEVER been.

Re: Why dost thou forsake us?
Ever been to New Hampshire? Not much to do here but drink and read, Id love to attend a signing.

I suppose Ill have to wait till you come to one of our more metropolitan neighbors. NYC or possibly Boston?

Anyway, I opened the comments under this post for a specific reason. I recently finnished the latest Wild Cards triad and I have to say... Wicked Cool!

This was my first visit to the world of Aces and Jokers (and nats and deuces... I wont forget the little guys) and I have fallen in love. Not only that but it was my first experience with shared world books.

At the very real risk of ass kissing I have to say it wouldn't work without the editing genious that weaved the tales together... please forgive the brown nose, it was only my enthusiasm that raised it. The fact that each character is written by a different author gives them their own voice in a very real way that Im sure couldnt be duplicated by a single author.

Anyway...my question...where can I get them all?!? I must read the story from start to finish. All the referances to events and persons past has me fiending like a junkie for more.

Please help, I need a Wild Cards fix.
