Wild Cards RPG

For the Wild Cards fans among you -- we're just announced a new deal with Green Ronin Games for a new WILD CARDS rpg. John Miller will be writing the campaign setting. Details on the Green Ronin website, my own website news page, and soon on John's live journal, I'm sure.

WILD CARDS originally grew out of a role-playing game called SUPERWORLD, so in a sense we're going home again. I'm sure that John will do a great job... and Green Ronin makes some seriously cool games.

Awesome. Green Ronin are an excellent company; small, innovative, and consistent in producing quality products (like the Mutants&Masterminds line).

And I see, M&M is what this will be based on. Even better. :)

Very cool. I'm currently playing in a GURPS Wild Cards game(though we played fast-and-loose with the storyline). I'm a little skeptical about the D20 style from a flexibility standpoint, but I'll try to keep an open mind. The world is just so open-ended and rich that I have a hard time imagining that it will be good in a less open-ended system.

What You're Reading
I wanted to comment on your "What I'm Reading" section, I've never posted before, but when my favorite author is reading my second favorite author, I have to. I just had to tell you you have to read Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel series, besides Ice & Fire, they are the only series I have re-read at least 3 times. Looking forward to Dance With Dragons, take as long as you need.

I have the GURPS Wildcard game on my bookshelf, can't wait for a new version!

You too huh? :p

I haven't played D20 before - not even for the ASOIAF game, sad to relate. But I will definitely be buying this... even if I never got a chance to play it, I'd buy it. (But I will. Oh, I will.)

Great news! Green Ronin is doing some incredible stuff with Mutants and Masterminds; couldn't have picked a better company to go with.

Re: Ello there
Go Blue! (As a member of the Michigan Marching Band I'm required to preface all football related statements with that, you understand I'm sure)

Anyways, I'm pretty excited to see how Green Ronin handles this, if it's as good as their other work (and I dont know why it wouldn't be) I will be a very happy camper.

Speaking of Comics.......
What are you reading at the moment, Ser Martin? Have you read any cool graphic novels recently? How about other authors' fantasy works? Have you thought about selling the rights of some of your characters to comic book companies? Y'know, like Origin of the Hound or something?

Re: Speaking of Comics.......
Are you familiar with the Hedge Knight comics? If not, it's exactly what you're looking for. They are currently producing the second series, based on GRRM's novella "The Sworn Sword", with the first series, based on "The Hedge Knight", already available as a graphic novel.

George ! Green Ronin is a great company, I think you did a good job picking them to do your sourcebooks. I bout the Gaurdians of order Game of thrones book and it was incredible ! I ran a campaign set 50 or so years before the conquest. Here is our website, I called it War of the Ironborn.

Thanks for the hours of incredible reading you have given me. I've read the series like 9 times now. I'm looking forward to listening to them on DVD or CD soon. I dont have a cassette player, they need to put em on CD's !!!
Later you mad scrivener you !

I'd love to try, but my bf tried to get me into RPGs but I am completely RPG inept.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :)

This sounds very exciting. I can't wait to hear more.

Hmmm.... to continue converting Champions to WildCards or to wait for WildCards to come out in the next year or so... Now I have a problem to ponder.

Hi, I've never posted here before, and I by no means wish to slam you or anything, but I was wondering if you have a rough estimate of when Dance will be out? Just curious and eager to read it :)
Aug. 17th, 2007 11:03 pm (UTC)
it will be done
when it is done.

When it is done, George will post announcements on his web site, this LJ and it will spread to the message boards and ripple outward.

Until then, don't expect updates on progress on DANCE.
