What is with the eyebrows in this thing? They didn't dye Sansa's either.

Anyway, this was amazing to see - so many characters I didn't see before: Gendry, Petyr, The Hound.

One major point though.. could you or have you published, like, a pronounciation guide to the names or something? After many of us realized we'd been pronouncing Baratheon wrong last week, my husband and I and I'm sure many others found at least 4 more names we'd been mispronouncing this week! :( Now I'm questioning basically everything.

Viserys: always thought accent was on first syllable, not second.
Targaryen: TAR-gar-yen instead of tar-GA-ree-en
Cersei: SIR-see instead of SIR-say
Catelyn: obviously like the common spelling of Caitlin though I did make a joke to my husband after learning about buh-RATH-ee-un (instead of bara-THEE-un) "Ha, Caitlin is probably CAT-eh-lyn or something..." lol.

I'm most concerned I'm mispronouncing Petyr. Now I'm guessing it's not Peter but probably PEH-teer or something. :( And I cannot even imagine what I'm doing to the names of the Krackens in future books.............. help us!!!!

He answered this question at days of ice and fire. He basically said that he doesn't care how people pronounce the names. He did give a few examples of how he pronounces the names but I think those were mostly said in this clip.

I mean, I'm glad he doesn't care how we pronounce them, but I care! He obviously has a certain pronounciation in mind and now we're going to see that on TV and it would be nice not to be thrown for a loop every time we meet someone new! :(

I always called her CAT-eh-lyn, hahaha. But that might be just because Eddard and others sometimes called her Cat. And I have usually called Petyr 'PEY-ter,' though I've always suspected that's wrong.

It'll be weird to reread the books (or read the next book) after watching the series and having all of the names twisted around in my head. ;)

Well, yes, we heard all of them but Petyr in that clip. Where did you hear that it was pe-TYR? That depresses me; I don't like it, and I'm in love with him. :( lol

Same here! I always pronounced them the same way! D'oh.

You're talking about the Targaryens, I take it? Your eyebrows and eyelashes are usually a shade darker than your hair color, unless you're an albino. My hair is naturally the same blonde as the Lannisters in the show, and my eyebrows are very dark. It's not unusual.

Yeah, apparently I've been pronouncing Tyrion and Jaime wrong too. And since it's "tee-rion" does that mean Tywin is "tee-win"? Because that sounds kind of silly.

Check out the audio books. Roy Dotrice does a good job with the character names and places --- though, he did have a slip up or two with Catelyn in A game of thrones.
