Feetsball

Back at home with the NFL. But weekends like this wear me out.

The Jets game was a horror. Bad enough that they lost to a mediocre Miami team they should have dominated. It was how they lost. Sanchez seems to have reverted to his rookie ways, throwing INTs every time he had the ball. Santonio dropped a sure TD. I think the Patriots game has robbbed Gang Green of their mojo, which does not bode well for the remainder of the season, with the Steelers and the Bears coming up. I am starting to have flashbacks to the great collapse of '86. Rex, Rex, work your magic, I can't take that again.

As for Big Blue, well, the Giants thumped a lifeless Vikings team playing without Brett Favre. The defense and the running game looked good. Eli, not so much. Two terrible INTs right out of the box. And now we have to play the Eagles on a short week. We haven't beaten the Eagles in what seems like decades. Time to end that streak. But if Eli keeps throwing the ball to guys in the wrong color jersey, it won't be easy.

Disgraceful. Guy must be an idiot.

It reminded me of the incident when Woody Hayes stepped on the field and punched a member of the opposing team.

As I mentioned in my own post about the Jets game, neither team really played well enough to deserve the win. Both offenses were a disgrace.

Admittedly, I think the rain had somewhat to do with it.

It may help (or not!) to remember that the jets barely won a number of games in the last minute of the game against teams that are not all that great. Before they played the pats two weeks ago they had only one win against a team with a winning record, that being the pats in week two. Broncos, browns, lions and Texans all are bad teams, and the jets all won those games by the skin of their teeth. I think that masqueraded some fundamental flaws in their game, that being Sanchez is a 2nd year QB who is not quite there yet. Also, I think Rex does more harm than good with some of his talk, building expectations a bit too high.

But what do i know, I'm an evil Patriots fan. :)

I beg to differ on the Lions being a bad team. A team that hasn't really learned how to finish, yes. But not a bad team.

I feel you on the nervousness GRRM. The Colts season is riding on the divisional match up against Jacksonville this Sunday. Peyton needs to be Peyton, and they need to get a lead early so as to minimize the impact of MoJo Drew.

love the jets, most fun team to watch this year... but im a tried and true steelers fan ... i was hoping the ravens would lose , so i could sort of root for the jets this coming week (and when they SOMEHOW actually went into overtime i thought i was in luck) , alas alas...

If the Eagles win we take the division. After this game we got two easy home games against the Vikes and Cowgirls while your Gmen are on the road against GB that could be tough depending on Rogers while they should beat Washington. I have a feeling the Giants are about to collapse though and my Eagles are going to win out. Just a hunch.

Winning Out
Eh, less sanguine about our chances to win out even if we beat the Giants. Our defense has been mediocre at best the past couple of weeks- partly injuries, partly general lack of talent (Excepting the phenomenal Trent Cole, of course). That better change in a hurry if we're gonna make noise in the playoffs.

But as for the regular season, the Vikes game is ours to lose, but the Cowboys played us real tough the first meeting, and they've got something to prove.

I legitimately spit out the soda I was drinking when I read 'feetsball.' Well done, good sir.

On the topic of Jets football..
This might be a sore time to bring this up but I wanted to thank your Jets for a gift they gave my own Arizona State Sun Devils: Noel Mazzone. I heard through the grapevine that he was the WR coach for the Jets before he served as our offensive coordinator. He really revitalized our frankly pathetic offense and gave us a new bounce to our step. Many kudos to the Jets!

The Jets game itself was hard to watch. Not really having a pro team means the luxury of rooting for whoever I feel like, and I've grown rather fond of Rex Ryan and his swagger. Here's to hoping Sanchez will get over the sophomore jitters soon!

I'm looking forward to watching the Eagles beat the Giants up a bit. Going to be a good wrap up with the season for the Big Green Machine, with the Giants and Cowboys again in the next couple of weeks.

The Giants have been impressive. You got a very talented Defensive Coordinator in Perry Fewell. The Bills had decent defenses with very little talent. He came to NY to run a defense with a whole lot of talent especially on the defensive line and the linebacker core.

Worse mistake the Bills have made in a long time ditching him and moving away from the 4-3.

Fewell is very talented, but so are Jason Pierre-Paul and Justin Tuck. Subtract either one and the defense is less than stellar.

Jets & Giants
Ok time to give up on the Jets for this year. Pats have broken the team for this year. Focus on the Giants. :) I am looking forward to a Pats Giants rematch for the Super Bowl. I just want a different outcome then you. ;) I want vindication for the last one.

Jets and Steelers this week... My Steelers are having problems on offense (namely the Duct Tape offensive line), so this is really anybody's game. Holmes coming back to Pittsburgh may be the story of the game if he can pick himself up. Or it could Polamalu feasting on Sanchez all day. Hoping for the latter....

Offensive line? The Jets may have them beat for being the worse of the two. Ugh. Poor Sanchez. No Polamalu so maybe there's serious concern for the Steeler D. I still think that the Steeler O will outscore the Jets.

I'm looking forward to the Eagles game on Sunday, personally. Should be a good contest, though in all honesty I don't think the Giants have any way to stop Vick.

ints
Don't worry about Eli's ints, it's just the curse of Ford Field.

Glass Houses
I'm glad the Jets are taking action. The organization as a whole should not be held responsible for an individual's actions, but the same can be said for other teams (that have been pointed out on this blog)as well.

What was that guy thinking, it's not 1960 someone is always filming somewhere!

p.s. Dear Santa guess what I want? ;)
