I've just signed up to Sky (something I thought I'd never do) just for this. I can't wait!

books
I'm really, really glad to see books comes to a TV series - especially BBC production, which I adore. But ... I love to read more than to watch TV. How about that books? I live in a country where books are translated and published 2-5 years after world release, and even then they are expensive to buy them regularly. For all of you, GRRM included, maybe it's been 4 years since the last book, for us it will be 7. For TV series, uhhh ... Maybe never, if I can't find it on internet. Have mercy, start publishing those books!
Oh, and congratulations on your wedding, and to both of you, have a nice and fulfilled life.

Re: books
If you are is Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, or another Central European country, you may be able to subscribe to HBO Central Europe. All the countries covered by HBO Central Europe will see Game of Thrones the day after it airs in the United States, and the same time as the U.K.

We all may be Rupert's bitch, but George RR Martin is not our bitch. That's the thing to remember here.

I'll be waiting for the DVDs I'm afraid, subscriptions to sky are not worth it, even for a Game of Thrones, especially when it means subsidising Sky News and Sky Sports.

Any news on A Dance With Dragons?
I can go to a gazillion sites on the internet to see what networks and torrents will be carrying the HBO show but I can only think of one place that I can go to get the news on the next book. That place is here.

Thanks.

A commenter above already answered your query. "It's done when it's done."

Author Neil Gaiman also wrote extensively on this topic. See my reply comment a few comments up.

Question about availability...
Just wanna start by saying I'm a big fan. And am greatly looking forward to seeing the TV series adaptation of Ice & Fire.

I was just wondering (if you know or may be able to find out) if the show will be available on the Playstation Network? (If you didn't know its a sort of pay to rent/own TV shows using the Playstation3.) For some of us this may be cheaper than actually having to subscribe to HBO to watch it, but still doing our share and actually paying for it. HBO already uses this for some of their series.

While I've (hopefully) got your attention... What's your take on the 'new' way people are reading (eg: Kindle/Ipad/etc...)?
Personally I think that commercial where the man asks the woman "How can she read in this light?" (while sitting in the sun by the pool) is pretty laughable. Considering they would never ask that if they had bought a book. Not to mention they'll never be able to re-sell that pdf or w/e file type they use on those devices, like they would a real book. It'll never be a collectible like a 1st edition of a printed book is either. Just my two cents.

Anyway, sorry if that ran a little long. And, thanks in advance for your response if you can find the time to. (Bet you could make an entire new post about these 2 simple questions.)

Best regards & please keep up the great work.

Re: Question about availability...
I agree with you that an e-book will never have the same collector value, so let's be glad that books still exist and are still being made. They might become a major niche market (if they havn't already) but books will always be around. I can't wait until the day I can afford to be a collector!

As for your PS3 question, I have heard nothing, but I think it is unlikely. You and others who cannot afford (me) or access (many) the subscription channels that are carrying the show will have to wait until the DVD box set comes out, AND go see it at a friend's if at all possible while it is airing (that is my plan).

I don't think I've seen a single picture of Masie in which the look on her face wasn't priceless. I already have a feeling that she's going to be a young actress to keep an eye on in the next few years.

MPAA Rating Equivalent
Since the show is airing via HBO, will it reflect the violence, gore, and nudity as depicted in the books?

Please do a signing.
Please please can you do a signing while you are here. The very day that I had just finished the first book I discovered that you had done a signing in London the day before and I missed it.

I can't wait
I'm so glad we finally have a release date. A definite moment to look forward to when I know I will be swept away to exist for a while in The Seven Kingdoms.

Not only that but I know with absolute certainty that each and every week following, another installment of Game of Thrones will be released.

The anticipation is almost over...
